EVENT ➜ 4TH WALL

AKA why Halloween is going to suck for everyone this year.

First let's just cover some basic of basic things Q&A style before we get on to how this is going to go down.

What is a 4th wall event?
➜ Most RPs involve applying for a character and being accepted to get in. During a 4th wall event, characters that aren't in the game can come and go freely, though this only lasts for a, more often than not, short time span. Unlike memes, though, the memory of the people that show up will stick with you.

What characters are eligible to brought in for 4th wall? I know you don't allow AUs and all that good shit.
➜ Oh contraire, mon frere, the 4th wall being broken means that any and all character types will be allowed in. This means AUs, character alternates, genderbends, original characters, and whatever else you could think of: all are welcome! If you want to make an account for a piece of grass and tag around with it, no one is stopping you. The only exception is real people since that's just Not Cool Yo, don't do it. For example, sorry, you can't roleplay out a Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson thread, but Bella and Edward is cool.

➜ Simple! There will be two kinds of ways to do this whole 4th wall thing. Specially made logs in the log community, and then for those that want things more personal, they can make posts to the main community tagged %fourth wall. If you don't want to participate, please feel free to not by simply...not tagging your post! This signals that woah, bro, I don't like you like that and hopefully people will know that you don't want to participate in the event. Also, even if you are a member of the game, these posts are for you too!

I'm not in the game so therefore I don't have to follow your rules! Ha!

➜ Whoa there, tiger. You still have to follow the rules of appable characters and the app cycle. You have the ability to app in during the current cycle, the next cycle, whenever! BUT, like it's been said, if you have a character that isn't appable, you're out of luck. Feel free to app in someone else more fitting, though!

IN GAME DETAILS

➜ FOR THOSE NOT IN GAME: You will show up in Holly Heights at sundown (8PM) on Halloween (though things will start 12:01 AM CST October 31st to give you optimal time to get your groove on) with pretty much what they were wearing and mysteriously one of these jobbers. Inside is no candy, but a card! It reads something like:

Fill up your bucket for a free ticket home.

Meaning you better get your ass to trick or treating or you'll be stuck here. (Though that's not true, but they don't know that. Shh...)

There will be a log for these kind of shenanigans, but also the ability to go trick or treating on actual character specific posts. It's recommended that you, those not in game, start log threads, though they can go either way.

Feel free to not be bound by the trick or treating thing, though. Your character can do anything a game character can do, other than start businesses or ask for gifts.

Please have some kind of information regarding your character and who they are (at least their name and series) visible on their account somewhere. It is also suggested you label your log threads just like in memes.

➜ FOR THOSE IN GAME: Basically whether you're ready or not, trick or treaters will be coming. Don't worry, each house is afforded lots of candy that is constantly replenishing. Don't be surprised if people come up to you, begging you to give them all your candy to get back home. Or a familiar face. Or random ass people. Whatever works.

The first day might be a little confusing, but feel free to watch on and try to play the candy game to get back home. It won't work for you, though, unless for some reason you drop at the exact same time the event ends because you just want to screw with everyone, but that is unlikely.

Remember you are under no obligation to tag those that tag you during this event. Whether it be for uncomfortability reason, or what have you. Just please try to resolve the issue as nicely as possible or to contact a mod if trouble occurs or people persist.

YOU'RE TOTALLY FORGETTING SOMETHING

➜ How long this event'll be, right? You're not just gonna make this a big deal and then have it last one day, you've got to be fudging kidding me?

➜ From October 31st through the end of the app cycle (how long the event will last, hint hint), every day will be Halloween. But not in number. You know how they have months where it's just darkness and snow mosquitoes in Alaska? It's like that. While the calendar may say November 3rd, it's still dark outside and the Halloween decorations are still there, and trick or treaters are still abound. I told you Halloween was going to suck this year.

Also, this won't all feel like one day. Treat each day as a day, just that every day is a constant 8PM on Halloween.

It's 4th wall, it's not supposed to be pretty.

Will characters who are brought in be humanized like current residents and/or de-powered?

Good question and I'll add it up there! Nope, you can bring in psychic cats that can blow up trashcans or whatever, and nothing will be changed about them.

A continuation question. If one were to bring in a hideous villain character who is prone to blow up a few houses at least, how much would you frown upon it?

If you brought in an app-able character as part of the 4th wall event, if apped for real later would their memories of the event remain?

If I were to do a dumb thing like throw a Kyubey into the mix, would he still be able to form magical girl contracts?

If you ask the player beforehand if they'd like to do this and flesh it out with them, then I don't see why not!

No. If they are apped back in, everyone will remember them but they won't remember everyone (save for castmates and such).

What about the hurricane? Because the way the event is set up a good chunk of people could totally miss out. Or is being late and backtagging in the logs totally okay?

If you mean the approaching hurricane, then it did have bad luck in coinciding with a previously planned event. Backtagging is always okay, and I don't mind a few late stragglers, especially if they couldn't participate due to the weather and it's something they can't help!
