Hong Kong is opening Holly Heights Zoological Gardens! You can now go and visit the animals at your leisure! Also, please buy fun souvenirs and eat tasty food at the zoo cafe.

Or you can work there, if you like! There's an OOC post for job sign-ups here, if you're interested. It's a big operation, so there's plenty of open slots.

I'll be working on putting together some exhibit descriptions and a list of animals, etc, as soon as possible also. For now, this is just here to serve as an announcement that the zoo exists and to let people know that Honkers is hiring.

Two questions!

Will this be taking over the spot of the petting zoo that Vanille had opened when she was around (but has since dropped)? It's still on the location page, and I noticed that a "petting zoo" option was on your info page.

Second: ...will there be rodents? Inquiring mouse army generals minds want to know. >.>

I wasn't aware of a pre-existing petting zoo, ah! I certainly wouldn't think (or wouldn't assume?) it would take the place of that location, but the zoo Hong Kong's running will definitely have its own petting zoo!

And this zoo can definitely have rodents! I'm still working on a list of exhibits and animals and any/all suggestions/ideas are totally welcome! :)

Yep, it's called "Wild Side Petting Zoo" and it's on the locations page. I don't show it currently having a new owner, but I don't know if that has a time limit on being recycled or scrapped. ; I just thought it would be an odd overlap if it was. Pardon the awkward observation!

Also, consider this a vote for rodents! Nazrin needs spies.

This is my first game where there are so many player-made businesses to be honest, haha. I certainly don't care either way. XD;

And as for the rodent house, if it was done right (or wrong, and needed correcting) she might offer up her expertise.

—though having Tokage already as an employee might be tense. Hmmm. Would definitely need to thread this out, sometime.

Aha, well, she's welcome to come and work at the zoo if you wish! There's also a section for part time employees, if you think that'd suit her better.

Rodents and reptiles - hopefully they're in different areas of the zoo. Who knows, maybe she could keep from running into him if that's a concern?

She does technically work for the temple here already, though the pay can't be too great since it relies on donations. But she also needs money to feed her "subordinates" soooo starting out part-time would work.

As for Tokage, don't worry about it! I was more or less just thinking out loud since they're just both bitter old youkai, except Nazrin hasn't (yet) discovered that Tokage is something of the sort.

...and she also has yet to talk to any of the "crazy" Nations-as-People yet either yet, so THAT would be a fun interview.

Haha, very good! And Hong Kong's a city, so even better (that one seems to confuse people even more than countries somehow). I'd be interested to see these two thread. Maybe I'll put up a zoo log sometime?

I would have to figure out if she would even know about Hong Kong's history, since she's quite old, but has not been to what they call the "Outside World" in some time.

Well, "Hong Kong" came about in the 1840s, if that helps.

I'll put that on my to do list! Maybe for sometime this week, I'll have to see how school stuff goes~

Oh then she... would probably not have a damn clue one way or another. (She and most of her friends are over 1,000 years old, but yeah, they don't "get out much" as it is.) XD;

Or maybe she'll just know the name from something she read off-hand, as materials do arrive in Gensokyo from elsewhere on occasion.

It depends. I could maybe tell you better if I knew more about Touhou, alas! I mean, there are a lot of popular cultural elements that are specific to Hong Kong that she could've heard about, perhaps? And Hong Kong certainly has a wealth of significant historical appearances between 1842 and the present.

Perhaps. It's more that, when she was out and about, her home country in the Middle East, and then when she did travel to Japan, she spent most of her time in a Buddhist temple in the mountains. Not exactly a lot of news that travels up that way, I'd imagine.

But I'll talk things over with my castmates and figure something out before it becomes relevant. :B

Oh, I gotcha! I bet talking to your other castmates would be a good plan then - I'm sure they can help out in the logistic sense that way? Whatever you decide though, I'm totally open to plotting/discussing any time~
