I'm Liah and new to the game! I went a little crazy I guess, as I'm bringing in two new people. First, England from Hetalia (journal: sod!!) He'll be in house #1476. If you don't know the series, he tries (tries) to be a gentleman but really he can swear better than most and also is a closet pervert I g u e s s.

Second is Fushimi from K - unlike the others from K, he's not in HOMRA as he left those losers long ago He's a friendless loser though who is far too obsessed with his ex-bff so there ... you go. He'll be in house #1436!

(I suppose that's good?? At least they didn't go through a repeat performance? And oh my gosh, I know what you mean, yes. I've had teachers from all over China and I know just what you mean. I have a teacher from Beijing, one from Nanjing, one from Chongqing... they all speak different Chinese!! Shanghainese just does what you said, but backwards. They both sound like si. So it's like "laosi" and such. The money thing... I totally did this several times and had to have my money counted back to me like a toddler. I SLOWLY LEARNED. Another funny thing, haha- our teacher never formally taught us 不明白 before we left for Shanghai. We had written the phrase 不听懂, but we didn't know what 不明白 meant for the longest time. Which is... pretty ironic. I bet you get this a lot: you say three words in Chinese and they get SO EXCITED and start talking a mile a minute? That happened to me a ton.)

(Yeah exactly :( It's still not great, but it's better than what us as the first 9 went through sob.... but screams yeah ... it's hard enough as it is!!!!!!!! omg laosi.... I'd cry. At least they pronounce that part here. Most people do say si instead of a shi-like sound but this one guy... then he laughed at me?!?! I did so well too... I knew the other number was 6 8( Yeah we were only told 谢谢 ... Like literally Just That. I knew 不明白 from my classes before, as well as 什么... It's tough. HAHA YES they do... I just kind of cry inside every time.)

(Hopefully it'll keep improving!! I'll have my fingers crossed for all of you!! And yes, laosi. At least I knew what that one was. Like, okay, he's introducing himself, he's Chen Laosi. Oh, right, Chen-laoshi. Got it. Sometimes though... we had some really weird lost in translation moments pffft. I think the important thing is to just try very hard to be as flexible as possible about that kind of thing. Most people we met were patient enough to try and work it out with us. And, in my experience, everyone in Shanghai and ESPECIALLY in Nanjing became very excited about practicing English on us. But my gosh, they threw you to the wolves, didn't they sdkfgsdf Are you taking Chinese while you're there or just kind of picking it up as you go?)

(Yes hopefully!!! I just have to kind of... remember what I learned before. I did get 500 characters down but it was so long ago I forgot... so much. Weeps. But yeah, for the most part a lot of people here can speak at least a little english. Enough to get by, anyway.
