player plot!!

HELLO EVERYONE, so for this holiday season Rin is gonna be receiving the gift of the Monkey's Paw/Rainy Devil!! Because she was already starting to have a bad time so obviously it needed to be made worse.

Essentially she's gonna go berserk and attack some people for a night or few. I know in Bakemonogatari the whole deal is that the attacks are triggered by hateful and resentful feelings, but since Rin is too much of a weenie to really dislike anyone I figured it'd be easier to just have the victims be random. But hey, if we can hash out a plausible reason for Rin to have any sort of negative feelings towards any of them, even better.

So!! I'm asking for a maximum of 5 people who Rin can attack (i can also bump it up some if more people want in) the slots filled faster than i expected so i'm upping the limit!!

We can discuss the extent of their injuries and they don't have to have CR with Rin beforehand either. I know I'm probably skimping out on a bunch of the details but just shoot me any questions here. Merry Christmas everyone!!!

PS anyone's more than welcome to fight her too tho she'll be invulnerable, and you're more than welcome to jump in as witnesses or attempt to intervene, not just participate as victims.

WELL....... the Rainy Devil gives the person pretty fucking insane fighting abilities but since i'm not completely following Bakemono canon for this, i can totally tone it down for Mochi! but yeah she'll be attacking without any weapons.

PS the dude being attacked there is a supernatural vampire so....... yeah LMAO but yeah, like i said i can just have her give him some bruises and stuff! it can be some weird thing where the Rainy Devil's randomly weaker for one night or something.

The reason why I was going to avoid broken bones is because if he gets broken bones at joints, he won't be able to play sports... |Da BUT YES various bruises would work!

Shiraishi's already unsure around girls, so something like this wouldn't definitely help. I don't mind him getting killed because what is fighting against someone when you're from a supernatural tennis series and you're the most normal player there.

Or he could just attempt to intervene because he's shounen hero like that even if he's from a mech anime instead

like i mentioned to Mochi's player, the Rainy Devil is something a normal human definitely won't be able to go up against. but Rin can def be randomly weakened for some minor roughing up instead of brutal dismemberments!! should i put Kazuki on the victims list, then?

there's a.... lot of victims already so i won't to go really violent levels like DISMEMBERMENT AND MUTILATION, probably a couple broken bones and concussions at the worst? but it's really up to what you want to subject Shiraishi to ahaha

That's very normal to think, tbh! Tenipuri is the weird series of Middle Schoolers who look like they escaped from Uni.

A concussion and a broken arm, maybe? Though his left arm is covered in a golden gauntlet (don't ask), so right it would be.

Oooh! Exciting! Yes I think I want him on the victim list! I also think... it might be cool if he was with someone else? I have an idea I'd like to pitch to Mochi's player...

As for Kazuki... he's... at least.... not entirely normal human (genetically altered kid). He's a bit weaker now because of canon stuff, but he was super athletic... to at least maybe dodge and save himself from serious injury maybe.

EDIT: I pinged Mochi-mun and we're doing this event together to lessen the impact................ basically, Kazuki can haul Kuramochi off before things get fatal.

This is a really cool plot! So I'm interested in having Sugane trying to stop Rin and fight her, but I have a question. He's going fight her in while wearing his G-suit which is essentially invulnerable armor, but it's not indestructible; how powerful is the Rainy Paw's attack?

this video should give a pretty good idea of how fast and powerful the Rainy Devil can be (the guy she's attacking there is a superpowered vampire for reference) but since i'm being flexible with what that canon presents, Rin can be weaker (or even stronger lmao).

Sounds good! Other Gatchaman has been hit with heavier damage in canon (getting thrown to a building, under intense fire, etc...) and has come out with mostly some bad bruises, so he should manage to come out of this mostly okay. Mostly.

do you want Rin to randomly attack Sugane, or will Sugane be looking for the person who's been attacking people? i'm pretty open on whether or not people realize it's her (her facial features won't be visible tho recognizing her by her stature/voice is possible)

I'm going with him tracking her down. Once he gets a word that it's Rin, or figures it out in midst of the fight, he's dialing down his powers a bit so he can (attempt to) knock her out temporarily without hurting her badly.

excellent, I'm looking forward to it! I was hoping for more CR with Rin as well, so this is one way to get that started, haha.

I saw your plurk on the matter (you can add me if you'd like, I'm 1923; though don't feel pressured to), and I'm cool with Gokudera falling anywhere on the victim list! I also saw the video of the monkey's paw/rainy devil and it looks totally atrocious... I love it.

as for the severity of her attack on him, I'm honestly 100% down for anything— you can kick his ass, or go easier if it makes more sense in the larger plot scheme. he's pretty hardy and likely to try to fight back (he uses weapons usually, but we can work out a situation where he can't react fast enough to use them, if you prefer!), but based on the intensity/speed of what's in the video... I think he'd still be pretty fucked.

Gokudera can fight back as hard as he wants! the Rainy Devil can't be stopped unless the person's wish is either fucked up or fulfilled anyway, so he can whale on Rin but she won't be going down. in the end, she'll just run off to attack whoever's next.

is he more durable than the average person or anything? (im canonblind to khr). im trying to order everyone by the intensity of the attack so knowing how badly he's gonna be hurt would be helpful.
