HAPPY GAY GALENTINE'S

This event will require signups, randomization, and lotsa love.

This will also contain two parts! Or at least one overall part and one one day part. You'll see what I mean when you read it. Also copious amounts of copypasting.

Here's what will happen on the 14th:

➜ In honour of Valentines Day, everyone's favourite property owner is giving you a gift. Well, a gift that you can give. Each person will be awarded a bouquet, though a small one. Those that don't sign up will get a bouquet of holly. Those that do sign up will receive a bouquet of four roses.

➜ Each rose bouquet can contain a large variety of rose colours. Well, as big a variety four roses can contain. Of course, though, there's always a catch. Tied to the roses via a string are two small scrolls of paper. One we'll get to later and will also be attached to the holly bouquets. The one specifically assigned to the roses contains a message from the Landlord himself:

My gift to you requires a little work. Re-gift all these roses and you'll receive a little something from me. A familiar something.

This meaning that in order to get you need to give. AKA regain event.

➜ The true catch though is that due to popular demand and requests for something like this is that this will be another forced-adjustment meme. This means that the roses each do something different. Here are the types of roses and their effects:

RED stands for Romantic Love. This is your typical fall in love with the giver rose.

PURPLE stands for Erotic Love. You can probably guess what this one means. You can take this to an extreme but the basic effect will be attraction.

PINK stands for Friendship Love. You'll now be clingy and jealous towards the giver of this rose. No one can take your friend from you!

YELLOW (though the roses will be more yellow than this) stands for Flirtatious Love. Basically the cheesy pick up line rose.

WHITE (grey so you can see the text, but roses will be white) stands for Familial Love. You're protective of the giver of this rose. You might even act childish or overly familiar with them

BLUE stands for Admirative Love. The senpai noticed me rose. Asking for praise and attention is basically what this rose does.

LAVENDER stands for Annoyance. This is one of the two negative effect roses. What is this freak giving you a rose for?! Everything the giver does irritates you.

ORANGE stands for Hatred. Easily explained as you hate the fucking cocksucker that gave you this god damn rose.

When a resident gives another resident a rose, the colour of the rose given gives them the corresponding effect. For example, character A gives character B a red rose. Character B receives that effect while Character A does not.

➜ One character can give more than one rose to another character. Character A gives Character B a red AND a black rose. This would result in various mood swings from one effect to the other. An effect overload can take an extreme toll on the recipients psyche, though this will be resolved when the event is over, just that the character will be left with a hideous headache from emotional overload.

➜ A character can receive flowers from more than one person. Character A gives character B a red rose but Character C gives them a yellow rose! These effects only work on the people that the rose is received from. So Character C will feel loving towards A and flirtatious towards B, but normal towards everyone else.

➜ To spice things up, when you sign up for the event, simply fill out the form in response to the sign up thread. When you do that, an assortment of four roses will be given to your character. This means that you can get any four random colours, or maybe even two of the same one! Who knows. The form does give you some semblance of choice so that you can say I don't want x rose but please keep it to a minimum.

On the day the event is over with, those who have given out all their flowers will have their gifts delivered to their houses. There will be a post up, much like how the Christmas event went, that you will reply to when you've given up all your flowers. Filling out the form means you did it and you'll receive your regain.

Comments can be addressed in this thread and sign ups are, again, here. A post on the meme community will go up later today specifically for the valentines event with the purpose of players to figure out who each of their flowers will go to in order to get their regain.

➜ Sorry this is a little late; work has been one crisis after another this week. The calendar will reflect the adjusted event and post days.

➜ For Christmas Secret Santa people, those who sent out their gifts will receive a nice prize package: 5,000 dollars, a tablet set up with the HH network and apps compatible with the HH network (you have creative freedom here), and a luxury good basket including meats, cheeses, and sweets.

➜ I noticed a little too late that the Secret Santa list didn't reflect dropped characters. If you were supposed to send a gift to a dropped character, your character gets the prize automatically.

THE SCAVENGE BEGINS
January is starting off the right way! As a team building exercise, the Landlord has set up a fun little treasure hunt for everyone,

➜ For this scavenger hunt you'll already know the items you'll be collecting: five glass jars containing a butterfly. The thing you'll have to figure out is where the jars are hidden. There will be at least one jar in each district.

➜ In order to make things a little easier and to stop you all from just wandering aimlessly, a list of five riddles will be afforded to everyone, describing a location in which the jars are hidden.

➜ In the middle of the town square in the housing district is a new feature: a dias about four feet tall with five pedestals on the top. These are for the jars that you'll be tasked to find. Upon putting a jar on the pedestal, it will be sucked back into the dias and a large compartment will open up revealing your prize for finding all five jars and thusly solving your five riddles.

➜ Now I know what you're thinking. I have a character who may not be able to figure out these riddles! That's why you can scavenge in teams! The biggest a team can be is four people. In the spirit of friendly cooperation, all teams will be randomized to four people with a team of leftovers. If one person is left after everyone is divided, there will be two teams of three.

➜ However many people are on your team, that's how many prizes will be in the compartment.

➜ Teams will be determined by sign up. This thread below will be team sign ups. Simply reply to the thread with your characters name in the subject. Teams will have names and teams that figure out all five riddles and retrieve the prize will be announced on the network.

➜ And what about those riddles? Those will be posted on a log. And how will you know if you're right? There will be a screened post stickied to the OOC community. When you and your teammates think you've discovered the answers to the riddles, comment with them there and you'll be told whether you're right or not. Don't worry, the riddles won't be too difficult.

➜ Now while I can't police and completely watch what goes on on Plurk, AIM, etc, I will request that you only share confirmed answers with your teammates. Giving hints yourself to other players is fine, but half the fun is trying to figure the riddles out on your own and amongst your team! ICly though, hints can be given to anyone at any time! And while no one can truly police IC answer sharing, there is a clause on the letter characters will receive in regards to this event saying that if you do, your prize will be negated. And possibly turned into a beehive.

➜ At the start of each riddle day, teams will be brought to a centralized location. They'll be given a slip with teammates and instructions. As a bonus incentive, hunters will be warned of a potential punishment if the jars are not found.

➜ Each jar will also have a rolled up scrap of paper. It's the players who decide whether or not they open the jar, release the butterfly and read what's inside. The note's message will be posted on each log top level.

➜ A log and plotting post will be posted for this event. When will this happen? ! It'll be on the 19th, as well as a list of the teams. You can continue signing up UNTIL THIS POST GOES UP. Riddles will be put up every other day afterwards.

NEW YEARS FOURTH WALL EVENT

So if you check the main comm, there was just a job survey put up in regards to a little new years shindig going on on December 31st. This will be where 4th wall takes place. During the party, an odd thing happens. It appears that some uninvited guests have shown up...maybe they're familiar to you, maybe they aren't.

For 4th wall participants, you'll be randomly dropped off inside the Landlord's house at midnight, in the specific location the big party is taking place in. The doors are locked; you're stuck until you somehow dissipate from existence in this reality. You have about six hours of time before you're sent back home. Don't worry. There will be lots to do, drink, and eat. So get comfortable.

More concrete details will be put on the actual post, put up on the night of New Years Eve and can include forward dating to midnight, Jan. 1st 2016. Use this post for 4th wall plans and offerings!

➜ Who wants their Christmas presents early?

➜ Everyone has the ability to get their Christmas wishes granted early this year by receiving three free presents from the landlord. What do you lucky ladies and losers have up for grabs this year? Let's find out:

➜ Red ribbon gifts are mistletoe boxes. Gift recipients will have a floating sprig of mistletoe above their heads for the remainder of the event. All others will be compelled to smooch them, though the type is of course up to you. From chaste pecks to all out tongue assaults, it's time to pucker up.

➜ Blue ribbon gift recipients will receive an "I Came to Holly Heights And All I Got Was This Ugly Christmas Sweater" sweater. Comes in baby puke green, pepto bismal pink, and urine yellow.

➜ Yellow ribbon gift recipients will be getting a winter companion. This creature can be as cute and simple as a Christmas puppy or as devious and dastardly as a intestinal parasite. Canon-specific creatures are acceptable IF the creature if from that specific character's canon. Otherwise, creatures of myth and legend are also appropriate ie dragons, wyverns, etc. Just no one gets a Pokemon or something, okay?

➜ Green ribbon gift recipients will be getting a receipt for $5,000. Money is always the best Christmas present.

➜ Pink ribbon gift recipients will have the opportunity to be status affected. The catch is YOU get to pick what status effect they get. Is it blindness? The ability to see people as items of food? An eternal sickness? Feel free to get creative and we'll negotiate if you go too overboard.

➜ Purple ribbon gift recipients will receive a brand new Vespa. Hope you can drive!

➜ Special Blue box recipients are given a togetherness package. This can include food, items, and other accessories for a great date night, friend hangout, or other family event. Contains enough for 2 to 4 people. Your creativity dictates specific contents.

➜ Special Yellow box recipients are given a box of replenishing sweets that will last for three months.

➜ Special Pink box recipients are given an ability of their choice for two months. Again, we'll negotiate extremes.

➜Each resident of Holly Heights is eligible to receive three gifts that are randomized and sent to them. In order to receive your free gifts, all you have to do is comment to this post and you'll have yours! If your gift requires discussion (ie the status effect gifts) then you'll be prompted to talk about it in a response. You may opt out of receiving one (1) type of box; state which kind in your comment.

➜The way I'm going to set up randomization allows for both multiples of boxes to be given out AND only a few of the special boxes. If you get one of those, you're lucky!

Who's ready for a team event that can also be solo that deals with roles and actual action? I hope you are.

➜ On the 17th, all Holly Heights residents will receive a small vial in the mail. Attached to the vial is a handwritten note:

"The last few months I've been civil. I hope that you understand times are changing and your cooperation is necessary. I've shown my good faith and interest in keeping things clean. No tricks this time. If you want an advantage, you will drink me. It is for your own safety.

- The Landlord"

➜ Which seems shady but it's not a lie. The last few events haven't offered any tricks and more treats than anything. Indeed, the vial is filled with a coloured liquid. Should you drink it, your character will go through a little bit of a change. They might feel a little tingly, and that's concerning at first. But it's not a bad tingle: no one should rush for the toilet or anything. Instead it's just a warm hum inside of you. The label didn't lie: you've been given an advantage.

➜ OOCly you will decide just what your character gets to drink. The concoction they're ingesting will decide just what role they've been placed in, but no matter what: they're now a hero.

For those curious, here's the breakdown on what's available:

RED
- Red warriors are often associated with unbridled passion and unyielding energy. True warrior and leader types fit well in this group.
- The two class types associated with this class are sword fighters and battle mages.
- Sword fighters have one sword of any size that they use for a weapon. They have average skills in all areas, including defense and attack but can learn and improve quickly.
- Battle mages fight with spell books geared toward a certain element, filled with incantations of their own design and type. They too have average stats that can be honed.

YELLOW
- Yellow warriors are often associated with high stamina and reluctance to violence. Younger pacifists fit well in this group.
- The two class types associated with this class are staff healers and guardians.
- Staff healers know emotion-oriented healing spells that can be cast with a staff. No words are required, just strong feelings that can heal or do slight harm depending on the user's intentions.
- Guardians are a class of their own and have no weapons or items. Their simple wish can cast party buffs or monster damage, but their powers are very weak.

BLUE
- Blue warriors are often associated with fast-thinking guidance and swift movements. Intelligent strategists fit well in this group.
- The two class types associated with this class are tacticians and low level mages.
- Tacticians carry a weapon of choice (either one short sword, one staff, or one mace) and have the power to sense both enemy and warrior weaknesses.
- Low level mages have an array of elements at their disposal but can only use entry level spells via an incantation book.

GREEN
- Green warriors are often associated with masterful handiwork and friendliness. Creative types fit well in this group.
- The two class types associated with this class are staff fighters and armored assists.
- Staff fighters use a long staff made of a choice material as their weapon. They have relatively high defense and attack powers.
- Armored assists have large suits of thick armor and come equipped with throwable shields. Useful for charging at enemies and helping defend allies.

BLACK
- Black warriors are often associated with experience and keen battle intellect. Those who have fought before fit well in this group.
- The two class types associated with this class are gunslingers and dark mages.
- Gunslingers are given two guns of choice (either two pistols, two sawed offs, or two sniper rifles OR two mixed and matched of the choices). These offer unending ammunition.
- Dark mages only have magic that effects the enemy's status or health. Can cast poison, health drains, or other ailments the user wishes. No direct offensive magic involved.

PINK
- Pink warriors are often associated with youthful naivete and eternal optimism. Younger keen warriors fit well in this group.
- The two class types associated with this class are dual sword wielders and slingshot carriers.
- Dual sword wielders are given two swords of any desired length and start with average stats.
- Slingshot carriers fight using a slingshot of any material and have the ability to cast status spells on ammunition, affecting the enemy if hit.

WHITE
- White warriors are often associated with innocent thought and inexperience. Those who are unaffiliated or netural fit well in this group.
- The two class types associated with this class are guardian mages and healers.
- Guardian mages exist solely to protect their allies, self, and team using shielding spells and things of that variety.
- Healers are equipped with items and spells that are directly related to team health and first aid.

➜ You may choose one of the classes under the colour you want for your character. Also, these may seem a little vague. You are given a lot of wiggle room so you can be creative with powers, weapons, style, outfits, and etc. Be ridiculous or classic about your approach. Variation is key! Magic can be more Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings style, swords can be ornate, culturally linked, so forth.

➜ Powers from back home are nulled for event participants. If they have a prior knowledge of a certain class, however, this can be advantageous for them. For instance, a character who used magic previously can find it easier to get used to and advance their magic here.

➜ While players can go solo, teams can also be created. A team requires seven people, one from each colour grouping. Teams are NOT necessary to participate in this event BUT may be fun for personal and event shenanigans.

➜ For this event, characters are going to be put through several battle simulations, much like a crossover between the simulation and paintball/snowball/laser tag events. Using their newfound abilities, an arena will be set up where fights between teams will take place, as well as fights between classes pairings and etc. Don't worry: there will be some rewards and incentives put in place so you have a reason to get involved.

➜ Another part of the event involves a few more typical monsters roaming around the streets and you get to be involved in the mayhem. Accounts will be created for these monsters, and player volunteers can step forth to get in on the action. Three small monster battles will be fought throughout the event time span in addition to the player battles. All of these are voluntary.

➜ IF YOU WANT TO BE A MONSTER, YOU HAVE TO PROVE YOU ARE ACTIVE. This means you need to be someone who can tag every day, boomerang if possible, and create creative and interactive tags. Just reply to the sign up thread and S&K and I will decide who we think is a good fit. I'll be creating monster profiles and creating a claiming post for those who are approved. Here are the monster types I'm looking for.

- Gremlin/Goblins
- Dragons
- Giants

These may be subject to slight changes. Monster players will have their AC requirement waived.

➜ If you don't want to get involved with the event, there's always room for damsels in distress or helpful non-participating allies anyway!

➜ To sign up for this event, reply to the thread that corresponds with the colour you want to use for your character. Reply to the thread with the subject formatted like such: "CHARACTER NAME - CHOSEN CLASS".

➜ Team sign ups will go here. To sign up, only ONE person needs to reply with their team roster using the form provided.

DAY ONE
Holly Heights is now a replica of the game Candy Land, or at least the new decorum has obviously taken inspiration from it. Everyone is now living in a Gingerbread House for the day. All landscape and setting objects are either candy or made up of candy, including cars, mailboxes, and plants. The specific candy that makes up everything can be left up to your own creativity! Objects that belong to residents will remain as they are. The rain will continue BUT instead of water it will alternate raining chocolate bars and actually raining liquid chocolate.

DAY TWO
Every resident shall be accompanied by their own Gentlepup. Which is basically a corgi in a bowtie that follows you around. If you are not impressed with your dog then it will disappear on Day Three. If you want to keep your dog, you can! Also it is still raining today.

DAY THREE
In a flipping and flopping twist of events, anyone under 5' 5" is now 18 inches taller. Anyone over 5' 5" is now 18 inches shorter. You're welcome. Also it is still raining today.

DAY FOUR
The rain IS letting up today because there are new residents moving into Holly Heights. If there is a species of big cat in existence, it's now roaming the HH streets. Lions, and tigers, and (no) bears, oh my! The only caveat is that instead of being dangerous, they're all extremely friendly and act much like their smaller, domesticated counterparts. Be careful, though: they can become agitated if handled incorrectly.

DAY FIVE
Class is in session! The rain is still a definite problem but you've got something bigger to deal with right now. You're going to have to spend all day in your school uniform. For some people this isn't a huge deal, but for other more adult residents, it might be. No matter what size you are now, you're squeezed into whatever you were wearing in your formative years. If you didn't go to school then, make up a uniform or school-related costume and that is your ensemble for the day!

DAY SIX
Today the sky is a little different than usual. The rain is gone, and what comes after the rain? A rainbow. Not only is there a huge rainbow arcing over Holly Heights, the sky is a swirl of changing and mixed colors, making the day one that is definitely colorful.

DAY SEVEN
Two things will be on your doorstep today. One is a basket filled with your favourite food. It's about the size of a regular picnic basket and as much as whatever it is will fit in there is what you get, no more and no less. The other surprise is a single Pokemon (of your OOC choice) that will be your companion for the day. Any and all of the....however many Pokemon there are now are applicable, including legendaries.

DAY EIGHT
The rain continues, and with it comes great sorrow for some HH residents. Today you'll be turned into a koala for one hour for speaking loudly or yelling. You can't make this stuff up, I swear.

DAY NINE
In a twist of fate, any negative activity committed by any HH resident (be it bullying, lying, or anything on the scale of trouble making or not do-goodery) will have a sudden ice and freezing cold water storm dumped upon them. This will repeat itself any time a negative act is committed OR last through the act in case someone doesn't take the hint.

IT CAN'T BE THIS SIMPLE, CAN IT?

Douche mod reporting in hella late again! I just slept like the dead after working approximately 60 hours in 72, but I am here now! Thankfully this event isn't going to be too heavy and or important that I need to switch days around. The event will still start tomorrow! "Oh but that's not fair! There's no time!" Typically I would agree BUT the month's focus will be on King For A Day so this event was designed to be stupidly simple to begin with AND you can sign up at any time and still make good shit happen with it.

➜ On the 14th, a basket of unlimited baked goods will arrive on your doorstep. There will be a wide variety, while some residents will still get the same kind as another, and a note attached will read thusly.

"Ready for a break? Share the wealth and good things will happen. Remember: do unto others as they would to you."

➜ Your task this month is ridiculously simple: share your goods with as many people as possible. There are some stipulations to this rule however. 1) They cannot be mailed. You CANNOT do a mass mailing and be done. 2) The goods have to be given in person. No leaving them for people to find them. 3) There are probably other stipulations I could come up with but in general the only way any of this actually counts is if the goods are exchanged person to person, face to face.

➜ How do you sign up and see what goodies your characters get to share? Simply reply to the post with a blank comment and their name in the subject line.

➜ Okay, you still don't understand how or why this is so easy. There HAS to be a catch. Maybe there is and maybe there isn't. You don't know, your characters don't know. There's no harm in trying, right? At the end of the day this should just be a side small event that gives you something to do outside of random stuff happening or being blind or legless or whatever else you have going on in HH. Get out there, meet new people, eat a bunch of junk food.

All event comments will be processed tonight and the survey will still go up tomorrow as planned. Hopefully there isn't a work schedule conflict and/or I know what my new days will be so I can plan around them. In the mean time, let's all be fat and happy together. As always, questions go here.

Reply to your teams thread with the following form filled out correctly. If your form is incomplete as of August 31st, 11:59 PM CST, what you do have present is what will count. You can only add numbers up to the days you would ICly complete them, meaning you can't plan ahead anything on your form (especially because you don't know the point values for the day lol). You MAY backdate and edit your form as you can complete any known tasks OOCly on any day you wish.

For example: If your character receives a task on Day 2 that you don't have plans for until three days later, you can still claim those rewards via backdated threads. You may also claim points from incomplete threads if you want to do any hand waving BUT keep this to a minimum.

PLAY YOUR HAND JUST RIGHT

This month's event will involve two things which I hope will excite everyone: 1) a team event and 2) an event where a log isn't required. I know a lot of y'all aren't about the logging. This is an event, however, where you could probably make use of a lot of individual logs, though how you play it out is completely up to you!

➜ On Monday, team members will receive a packet in the mail that details their involvement, team information, and rules for the event. Each Holly Heights resident, regardless of their consent, will receive this information as well as a coloured keychain with a simple design style (a small coloured disc without any other markings). This keychain can be displayed or kept hidden; it's simply up to the character's discretion.

➜ Teams are sorted by color: Red, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Green, Purple, Pink, and Black. Your team assignment is displayed on the taken list and should be obvious to you. If you would like your specific characters to be more diverse, reply to this thread so that they can be randomized elsewhere. However, when the event starts all team positions will be finalized. I ALSO HOPE THAT YOU DO NOT DO THIS BECAUSE WE HAVE EIGHT COMPLETELY EVEN TEAMS AND THAT IS SO CHOICE so I strongly suggest if you want to move, you find someone to swap with you so we keep things Even Steven.

Note: Just because your character has an assigned color doesn't mean they have to participate. How do you participate, though? Let's continue:

➜ The information packet will explain that this event will be based on task completion and reward. Poker chips will be given to players who complete certain tasks given daily. The standard values are 1, 5, 25, 100, and 500. If you were on the boat excursion, you received a 200 chip. This is an advantage for your team during the event.

➜ When a task is completed, the resident receives the corresponding chip in the mail. At the end of the event, a teams total amount of chips will be tallied and the team with the most chips wins. Other teams will then fall into second through eighth place. The first four places win awards that are in scale with their place. The four last place teams will receive punishments in accordance with their place.

➜ Here's an example of an event day:

Kotetsu receives his three tasks for the day. They are worth 5, 100, and 1 respectively. He completes the 1 and 5 tasks easily but has difficulty with the 100 task, leaving it incomplete for the day. The next day he receives three additional tasks to be completed for the day as well as his 5 and 1 chips for completing the tasks from the previous day.

TL;DR Complete tasks, earn chips, get prizes. Pretty simple, right?

➜ An added snafu will be present intermittently. Occasionally one days mail will ask residents to offer up a possible risk/reward or punishment type scenario. One day a letter may ask team members to pay 100 points to sabotage one person or a team in general. Other days a chip lottery may take place with teams winning based on their choices. On days like this, specific rules will go up to explain them more clearly. This will just let you know not everything is fun and games!

➜ During the second week of the event, a setting change will happen: Holly Heights will become an island for one week, meaning the setting will be more tropical and the entire area will be surrounded by a beach. More concrete setting specifics will be available on the first day of the setting change.

➜ This event does involve keeping trask of (gasp) numbers so be prepared for that. To save you time and to give me peace of mind when tallying all this crap up, there is a post for keeping track of your totals. Underneath your team's thread, post your comment and keep track of your daily earnings and either keep a total running throughout the event or add up your winnings at the end of the event. The winning teams and finally tally will be put up at the start of September.

LET'S GO SAILING (OR NOT, THAT'S COOL TOO)

Similar to a summer event two years ago, this little excursion will be outside the realm of Holly Heights and on a boat that seems to be floating on an endless sea. Instead of having a survival aspect, however, there's instead a much more vacation-y feel, and here's how that will all go down.

Sign ups for this event will involve either 1) placing yourself in a cabin via this post or 2) replying to this comment to be put into a random room. Just like any other event, if you don't want to be placed with a specific someone that you haven't voiced concerns about before, speak up so you aren't made uncomfy by random room placements! Rooms are co-ed and house four people.

On the morning of the 13th, characters will find themselves awake on the boat in the room with their other three companions for the journey. Their possessions aren't present sans anything they had on them before they fell asleep in whatever clothes they sleep in.

What else will happen on this boat journey? Will there be food? Will people have to kill each other in order to keep starvation at bay, left to decide whose leg gets to be eaten on what day? No, nothing like that, but that's all a mystery to you and your muses at the moment! While this event is a day-by-day reveal event, rest assured that it will be more fun, friendship, HH stuff and no murders, crabs, or icebergs will be present.

What about the people who don't go? Life will continue as normal with maybe a mini event thrown in. As far as they'll know for a few hours, HH will just have experienced a mass exodus. Why? While the boat crew will keep their phones and have access to the network, all posts are filtered to only other boat participants (think about this when posting and label posts appropriately). Texts and posts directly sent to non-boat residents will bounce back. This goes for those on land too: posts will be filtered and all outgoing direct messages will not be received.

However, this will only matter for a few hours. This is where the new Holly Heights job listing comes in.

Instead of the old format, the job posting will focus less on handing out assigned tasks and follow a style that's more like paid online survey taking. While the exact cash stipulations will be put in the post, your character will basically be paid to be active and interact with community members in a text based format (possibly video and voice if i can work that in there magically). Jobs will be assigned, but characters will be asked to answer questions and respond to others about these questions. This WON'T be filtered, so both island and land lovers will be able to interact and share information. Sadly, this post will only ICly be open for 24 hours, so no info sharing past that!

Also, for the first post, the answers of land participants will effect certain activities and aspects of boat life, such as picking certain scenarios and foods that boat participants will have to put up with.

This will be a log based event but posting to the network and etc is a-okay! Any questions about the event can be asked here!

➜ So this post is up and for your star exchanging needs. If you don't know how many stars you officially got from the event, you can headcanon a reasonable number from 1 to 7. A lot of the threads were open ended, never completed, and tasks had vague stipulations with the purpose of you being able to choose your own adventure without severe limitations. THUS you can guesstimate how many stars you reasonably got. This isn't a super serious event so if you all say 7, I'm sure no one is going to be displeased, but try to be reasonable with it.

➜ SO 4TH WALL will be happening on July 4th. The setting will be in HH and have a very ~Independence Day~-y theme as an outdoor BBQ festival with other stuff going on is held in a large and enclosed tent in the Housing Gate that characters can't get out of. 4th wall characters are allowed to have fun and do whatever they like inside the tent, whether it's help with a mini event inside or just goof off, eat, etc.

➜ All characters are welcome to 4th wall!!!!!! Duplicates, OCs, AUs, etc. Previously played characters are perfectly welcome to drop in for a little while as well.

➜ If you have NO IDEA what a 4th wall event is, it's when characters that aren't apped (or even characters that can't regularly be apped for whatever reason) come and inundate games for a night of pandemonium.

➜ The 4th wall event setting MAY change depending on what concrete stuff is set in place. So what is sure is it will happen on the 4th and a party will be involved but things MAY be subject to change.

➜ There is a thread for 4th wall plans and offerings here! You can reply with characters you want to bring and characters you'd like to see. Pimp that out for maximum exposure please! Also, questions about either event can be asked here!

EVENT ➜ STAR GAZING

Basically another game put out an event exactly like the one that I thought up so I had to race back to the drawing board because you don't want to be One Of Those People. We'll do it some other time this summer; it was a fluff event so nothing to worry about. Also event dates are slightly edited to reflect the lateness so you don't have to scramble.

Also, a post will be up soon (say, Monday or Tuesday) for Friendship Festival star rewards + some more game notes!

WRITTEN IN THE STARS

During the event, a wonderful and spectacular sight will be seen all around Holly Heights. At first the multicolored stars are beautiful and captivating, falling from the sky starting the night of the 18th. From then on, however, it's as if there's no stopping these heavenly forces from catapulting to the Earth. AKA, they constantly fall, break shit, and are just plain annoying after the novelity wears off. They'll finally stop on the night of the 28th.

What is the purpose of these stars? At first they my just seem like little chachkis that serve no purpose. On further inspection, the stars are very brittle and crack open on impact. Inside each star is a tiny scroll of paper the same colour as the vessel it came in; a sentence scribbled on the slip.

What are these sentences? What is the deal here? Well, each color of star corresponds to a certain character and each sentence then corresponds to that character. What should these sentences say? That's up to you.

No name is associated with each star, just the color, meaning you would have to either confirm or deny whether or not it actually was your star in order to, you know, own up to what is inside. The phrases inside are ultimately up to you, but in order to make things interesting, try to make your sentences interesting. The more revealing or embarrassing, the better.

You are allowed to use a reasonable amount of headcanon in these sentences. For instance, making something up that your character wet the bed until they were 11 is one thing, but giving them a mysterious mole-like third nipple on their back is a different story. Sentences can involve Holly Heights canon and a character's canon, ie they can be about something they experienced back home or how they feel about something they did here, something they did here that no one knows about.

The sentences should follow the format of "I...". I have three moles on my ass. I kissed that guy in the closet. I want to punch so and so. These cannot be about other people only. For instance, if you want to call someone out for something, you have to phrase it in a way that involves the both of them.

Bad Sentence: Haru has a watersports fetish.
Good Sentence: I know Haru has a watersports fetish.

The colors will require hex codes! If you do not have a program that can give you a hexcode, please go here in order to fill out your form completely.

There will be thousands and thousands of these stars (roughly the size of the palm of a hand) falling from the sky, but you only have to write 5 to 10 sentences. There will be repeats falling from the sky.

A few times during the event, there will be broadcasts of some secret sentences on TV or on the network. To sign up for the event, all you have to do is reply to the post with the form at the bottom of this page. For the network broadcast secrets, please post to this page following the directions provided. These will be screened to offer a more private way to post sentences. If someone knows your color is your color (OOCly) then they'll recognize it andi it's not like you can't figure it out just going through this post, but it's a more fun way to post the wild stuff to surprise friends with. If you want, anyway!

This April, Holly Heights will be treated to a late Easter Egg Hunt. There will be nine basic eggs to be found that offer either an effect or character change (six) or that offer cash prizes (three). One other egg type offers a regain and another offers a special event something-or-other. Ready to find out the types?

➜ Red eggs are monstrous eggs. Instead of inflicting the finder with rage, the egg will become enraged instead. Red eggs will fly out of the hand of those who find them and make a beeline for their target: whomever they see first asides from the person who found them. The egg will not rest until it is either smashed by someone or smashes into the target. There IS a safety word for the eggs that renders them harmless. "Cake decorating".

➜ Yellow eggs can give egg hunters sensory or skill removal. If you'd like your character to find one of these eggs, either one of their senses or skills would then be taken from them. A good example would be one of our 1839920 sport's anime characters being unable to arm wrestle, mini golf, or power lift like they used to.

➜ Blue eggs are both sticky and magnetic. Finding a blue egg will sync a character up with another character holding a blue egg. Once held, blue eggs will not allow characters to let go. They will remain stuck together until midnight.

➜ Pink eggs are either truth or lie serum eggs. Characters who find these eggs will be committed to either telling lies until midnight or speaking the absolute truth. Characters can't get out of this by being cagey or unresponsive. Every hour on the hour, characters will say one truth or lie without being prompted.

➜ Orange eggs are house switching eggs. Finders of the orange egg will find themselves transported to a random (icly random, anyway) house and will be unable to leave for the rest of the day

➜ Purple is the costume change egg. Purple eggs will make characters wear, by force, either a french maid costume, a beaver costume, or a sex clown costume. All outfits will be fitted for a woman, regardless of the gender of the egg hunter.

➜ Gold eggs contain $100 receipts.

➜ Silver eggs contain $1000 receipts.

➜ Green eggs contain $10,000 receipts.

➜ Striped eggs contain regains. These will magically make any item your character desires, whether originally theirs or not, appear at their doorstep. They may not notice these things until after they hunt their eggs.

➜ One large egg (about the size of a small infant) will be hidden every day. This egg contains an item that will be discussed in the top level of each log thread throughout the event. The item might be terrifying, hilarious, or in between. The object of characters is to find all the large eggs. When RPing, only one character may claim finding the egg on each day. So first come, first serve when it comes to large egg finding.

➜ On April 14th, all residents will get a letter stating that based on the eggs they find hidden around Holly Heights, they will receive a certain amount of cash. This is, in fact, true. Tally up the eggs your character finds and wait until the end of the event to see how much money they really got away with. Each egg type is associated with a sum of money that won't be revealed until then UNLESS they find a money egg.

➜ Please note that this is the only incentive truly present. If you have a character who won't be so active, try to get them to be pulled in by another character. This goes for pretty much all non-forced events: sometimes you need to work to make things work.

➜ Each character can find five eggs a day. Any eggs after that will be spit out of their baskets (also provided by the LL). If a character decides to use their shirt or something, the eggs will either hop out or disappear.

➜ Only the FIRST egg picked up by a hunter will cause the effect. If Italy picks up 1 red egg, 2 green eggs, and 2 purple eggs, the red egg will be the only egg to have any effect on him. ALL EGGS WILL COUNT FOR MONEY.

➜ Try to keep finding the large egg away from one clique. If you want a bunch of people who have CR or are in the same canon to find an egg, let them group up and find it and allow for other in-game groups to also share the spot light. Also, if a character has found a big egg, they can't find one again. If by THREE DAYS the egg still hasn't been claimed, this rule is taken away for that specific day.

➜ Eggs will be hard and very sparse, hidden in all areas of Holly Heights, and can be very obvious or very well concealed. They CAN be hidden in houses. No breaking and entering! Or you can, whatever.

➜ For one last big twist, don't think your character will catch on. A few times during the event, egg effects WILL SWITCH. This is more for IC shenanigans than OOC. This way a character won't think "hmm, I hate those pink eggs. Let's not touch those!" You WILL be told when effects switch.

This Holly Heights event will be luck and chance related both in game and how the event will be set up.

➜ In this particular event, players will have to come up with five unlucky things and five lucky things for their characters to experience. These can be either permanent (for the event) or only last a certain amount of time. For example, a lucky occurrence could be "Makishima finds five dollars on the ground everywhere he goes" and an unlucky event could be "Lily goes bald for three days".

➜ What's the point of this creativity? On specific days throughout the event, a roulette wheel of chance will spin and characters will have to experience these events in game. The specific days for these events will be the 14th, the 17th, the 19th, the 22nd, and the 25th.

➜ If you don't get the gist, here's a good example that shows what will happen:

Let's say that Makoto has five unlucky and five lucky events associated with him and they are written in a sign up comment. On the 14th, the comment will be replied to with a determination of whether this is a lucky day or an unlucky day for him, meaning one of the events will be triggered. Here are some examples from this hypothetical list:

UNLUCKY
14th: Breaks a bone
17th: A friend becomes mad at him for a few days

LUCKY
14th: Someone he likes kisses him
17th: He is gifted with a pie

On the 14th, the comment will read something like "Congrats! Today's your lucky day! You'll be kissed by someone you like." Today has been a lucky day for Makoto. This event can happen ANYTIME during the event itself.

On the 17th, Makoto will then experience an unlucky day; "Oops. Looks like your luck isn't that great. You'll make a friend angry somehow." Hopefully the specific example helps you understand the event a little better.

➜ For those who can't come up with a concrete set of pratfalls and highs, you can also help make some general wacky scenarios of your own. Go to this comment and contribute some unlucky events and some lucky ones that can be randomized for those who can't come up with anything or would rather see their characters go through something a little more spotty. If you aren't comfortable or can't work with the event that you were given, simply ignore it. Try to be malleable, though.

➜ The events that you choose CAN be specific to certain characters, both in your own sign ups and in the event creation thread, but only with player permission. For instance, you can't go and put "Nagisa blows you" in the event creation comment section unless that player says yes, Nagisa is a sex freak and would gladly blow anybody. Just as an example.

➜ Signing up requires filling out a form and commenting in TWO places.

First: comment here with only your name in the subject line and the comment blank. This is where mods will tell you about your fortune for the day. This is so you can edit your event comments freely. Do NOT forget to make a response comment or you cannot participate.

FLOWER POWER PART II

This event will require signups, randomization, and lotsa love.

Here's what will happen on the 12th:

➜ In honour of Valentines day, everyone's favourite property owner is giving you a gift. Well, a gift that you can give. Each person will be awarded a bouquet, though a small one. Those that don't sign up will get a bouquet of holly. Those that do sign up will receive a bouquet of four roses.

➜ Each rose bouquet can contain a large variety of rose colours. Well, as big a variety four roses can contain. Of course, though, there's always a catch. Tied to the roses via a string are two small scrolls of paper. One we'll get to later and will also be attached to the holly bouquets. The one specifically assigned to the roses contains a message from the Landlord himself:

My gift to you requires a little work. Re-gift all these roses and you'll receive a little something from me. A familiar something.

This meaning that in order to get you need to give. AKA regain event.

➜ This is a forced effect event. BUT unlike the 2013 V-day event, the meanings are going to be switched up. This means that your character, if they were here then, won't be able to know which meanings belong to which rose. They might say that they want to avoid giving red roses because of the love thing but it's all for naut because the blue roses actually do it this time. This still means that the roses each do something different. Here are the types of roses and their effects:

RED stands for Hatred. Easily explained as you hate the fucking cocksucker that gave you this god damn rose.

PURPLE stands for Annoyance. This is one of the two negative effect roses. What is this freak giving you a rose for?! Everything the giver does irritates you.

PINK stands for Flirtatious Love. Basically the cheesy pick up line rose.

YELLOW (though the roses will be more yellow than this) stands for Erotic Love. You can probably guess what this one means. You can take this to an extreme but the basic effect will be attraction.

WHITE (grey so you can see the text, but roses will be white) stands for Admirative Love. The senpai noticed me rose. Asking for praise and attention is basically what this rose does.

BLUE stands for Romantic Love. This is your typical fall in love with the giver rose.

LAVENDER stands for Friendship Love. You'll now be clingy and jealous towards the giver of this rose. No one can take your friend from you!

ORANGE stands for Familial Love. You're protective of the giver of this rose. You might even act childish or overly familiar with them.

When a resident gives another resident a rose, the colour of the rose given gives them the corresponding effect. For example, character A gives character B a red rose. Character B receives that effect while Character A does not.

➜ One character can give more than one rose to another character. Character A gives Character B a red AND a black rose. This would result in various mood swings from one effect to the other. An effect overload can take an extreme toll on the recipients psyche, though this will be resolved when the event is over, just that the character will be left with a hideous headache from emotional overload.

➜ A character can receive flowers from more than one person. Character A gives character B a red rose but Character C gives them a yellow rose! These effects only work on the people that the rose is received from. So Character C will feel loving towards A and flirtatious towards B, but normal towards everyone else.

➜ To spice things up, when you sign up for the event, simply fill out the form in response to the sign up thread. When you do that, an assortment of four roses will be given to your character. This means that you can get any four random colours, or maybe even two of the same one! Who knows. The form does give you some semblance of choice so that you can say I don't want x rose but please keep it to a minimum.

On the day the event is over with, on the 23rd, those who have given out all their flowers will have their gifts delivered to their houses. There will be a post up, much like how the Christmas event went, that you will reply to when you've given up all your flowers. Filling out the form means you did it and you'll receive your regain.

THIS MEANS WAR III: THE LASER TAG EDITION

The event is pretty simple in theory but a little more complicated in mechanics. Simply put it's a ~~snowball war~~ ~~paintball fight~~ laser tag extravaganza.

Not really, sort of, but here's how it works:

➜ if you feel the deja vu, it's probably because this is similar to the January 2013 and the paintball event! They were big successes and it's time to pit the Holly Heighters against each other again in a similar fashion.

➜ There will be four teams taking part in this snowball war: blue, green, red, and purple. For this event we'll be doing team sign ups because the taken list is really fucked right now (my bad). I trust that you won't leave the teams unbalanced so if there could be a bit of communication among the player base about cast factions and which groups will take which color, please be my guest and I would appreciate this. If you have five characters, two may be on the same team but if you have four or less they must ALL BE ON DIFFERENT TEAMS.

➜ Starting on the 15th, there will be 6 battles played in a versus like fashion. To ensure you have a chance to tag everyone and anyone you would like, each team will play each time. Every two days a new battle will begin, meaning that the battle will take place on the 15th, 16th is an off day, then another one will happen on the 17th.

The scheduled battles are as such:
16th: Blue vs. Purple [ School ]
18th: Red vs. Blue [ Businesses ]
20th: Purple vs. Green [ Forest ]
22nd: Blue vs. Green [ Forest ]

➜ But how does this all go down? Unlike the snowball event, there won't be a lot of change. As the schedule above shows, the fights will take place in HH without a new setting. If you're on a team that day, such as a Purple team member on the 120th, then you'll be magicked to that area listed next to the match. Your team will be on one side of the area and the other team will be on the other side. The goal of the battle is to hit each person from the other team with your laser equippment which will be provided to you upon waking up.

➜ ICly the rules are as such: it's pretty much like dodgeball. Once the playing characters have been transported to the field, they will be magically adorned with an armband of their teams colour as well as their laser tag guns and vests with their teams colour. Once they have been hit with a laser gun, their armband will disappear, meaning they are hit. Once an entire team loses all of their armbands, they lose, and the other team is the winner. This really doesn't matter too much considering the winner of the game will be randomized on the day the log is put up, so it's perfectly reasonable to not want to play your badass, paintball champion character losing to some wimpy person that can't even shoot straight in a thread, and just because your team is "chosen" to lose doesn't mean you need to not be IC in this matter. You can just pretend a stray paintball hit their shin and they were out or something. Just have fun with it and don't give the winnings too much mind. Also, team hits don't count, only hits that come from a different team.

➜ If you don't want to participate, you can have your character not show up simply ignore signing up. They can just go about their business, wander onto the field as a pedestrian. Who cares.

➜ Also, since these matches take place in and around Holly Heights, you are free to reply to log threads that don't have anything to do with, such as a student being in the 16th thread because they're at school!

➜ The incentive this time is written on a banner at the base camp of each team in each place: Win the tournament to ??????. written largely and with the above rules written out. There won't be much of a clue as to what you're playing for. The winner of the tournament will be randomly decided BUT don't let that get you down! All teams will get consolation prizes, which may or may not be better than the actual grand prize. Those will be revealed on a post on the 28th.

➜ For right now, feel free to converse among yourself about this but there will be two threads below to make sure that this is as realistic and inclusive oocly and icly as possible: each team will have a thread in which four team captains can volunteer on a first come first serve basis. When the teams arrive with their bands, the team captains will have it written on theirs. Another thread will be for choosing a team name. Simply suggest a name for your team and the name with the most plus ones will be chosen to represent your team. If it's a tie or there's no plus ones, it will just be randomly decided or whichever I think is more painful.

➜ Game wise, there will be one large log post for this whole event, with sub threads for each versus battle. In the comment will include Blank vs Blank and who has been selected to win. These threads can be for team interactions, open ended Tag me! threads, team member against team member interactions, or even interactions from bystanders. Have fun with it, there's no limit to what you can do! But please state your team or lack-thereof in the subject.

➜ As another note, the first couple of times might be a little confusing to characters, but after they get the gist, feel free to make team filtered posts to strategize, agree on team outfits/uniforms, etc. if you'd like to get really into it. Also, if you'd like not to participate, feel free to just go about posting as usual.
