Hello again, denizens of Holly Heights! Last week I posted about the Chinese New Year celebration that some of the characters are going to be hosting-slash-facilitating. This post is for a more detailed overview of events and serves as an official sign-up post for people who want to contribute!

First, the "schedule" so far.

On the 27th, Hong Kong made a post wherein he delivered invites to everyone in Holly Heights. ICly, I'm thinking this probably took a few days, so the 26-28th.

This weekend, that is the 1st and 2nd, I'll be posting a log for people who want to help with decorating and particularly the construction of the lion dance costumes. There will also (hopefully!) be people on hand to instruct future dancers in the dance itself. That's one of our exciting sign-up opportunities! If you have a character that knows any version of the lion dance, please come to us!

The weekend following this one, the 8th-10th is when the actual New Years log will go up. This will encompass the celebration for the 10th only. Anything beyond that will go in another log (possibly, I'm not sure if it'll be necessary or not, but we'll play it by ear!)

There may also be some kind of follow-up log wherein the chaos is surveyed afterward. That'll also be played by ear.

Okay! Onto the sign-ups.

If you already commented saying you wanted to help, I'd really appreciate it if you could do so one more time so I have everything in a nice, official list. I like lists….

That said, it's also for practical purposes other than my consuming need for neatness.

What we need!
- Booths and stands. Do you own a business? Run a club? Sell a product? Make something fun in your spare time? Anything you can advertise, sell, or demonstrate, you can run a booth for it! These will be festival style stalls and they're going to be set up in the park.

- Decorators and costume makers. We need decorations! If you don't know how to cut paper or make lanterns or whatever else we come up with, there will be trained professionals on site to help you!!

- …Trained professionals who know how to make New Years decorations and lion dance costumes. See above! No, but really, I'm hoping for as much variety in the decorations and lions as possible, so even if your character doesn't know how to make traditional Chinese decorations or costumes, you can help!

- Cooks. I may have underemphasized this last post, but this is a food extravaganza. We want tons of the stuff. It doesn't have to be traditional New Years food, though that is great! Just bring enough to feed several elephants.

- Transport crew. We need drivers to haul things around!

- Misc. Did I forget something? Do you want to do something else? Let me know!
