EVENT → PUT YOUR CAPE ON
For reasons unknown as of right now, the landlord is throwing away a couple of rules, which may or may not be divulged at a later date. And by may or may not I mean one day when you don't expect it. Or later next month. It's a mystery!
But what isn't a mystery is that suddenly a lot of things are really different. Especially how some of you may feel. And how some things may act.
Because for whatever reason he's thought of, which he's thought of a good one, a lot of residents have now been given super powers. Hopefully the more right-minded kind got them, but in this place, who knows.
Here's what will happen on the 12th as well as some of the changes that will take place:
➜ First off, of course, your character wil be given a super power (if you sign them up for one, but more on that later. They'll receive a card in the mail with just the super power on it. Hopefully they'll notice it before long, which is very likely because at first they'll be a little hectic and hard to control. So if your character gets heat vision, then they might accidentally melt their television while watching it.
➜ Speaking of which, instead of the usual rule that everything will regenerate after the end of the day, during the 10 day run of the event nothing will fix and will remain damaged until then. That means if someone happens to knock a building over, it will remain that way for days until the event is over.
➜ Character business and home owners, may I have your attention please! There will be a thread here that you can sign your business or house up to be demolished or to at least just give permission for them to be used. If you have employees and housemates, please make sure to inform them and/or get their consent.
➜ Powers can be your run of the mill anything, from invisibility to super strength, but you can also make them as ridiculous as possible, like the ability to make fruit appear out of no where or having a vacuum mouth or whatever you want to do. They can be useful and heroic or useless and pedantic.
➜ Everyone can participate in this event, from those who get super powers to those who are just civilians whose houses might get trampled. Hopefully you have a friend to room with when your bedroom gets a tree thrown through it or you set it on fire when you're trying to just microwave a burrito or something.
➜ An added bonus to this event is that to instill a certain heroism aspect to the event even further is that in signing up your character, you'll be given the option to make them able to be a super villain. Five people who opt in will be randomly selected to be given a certain evil disposition that comes with their super powers, even if they're as ridiculous as turning everything they touch purple. Who will step in to save us from this awful purple peril...hopefully someone. These characters will be more likely to wreck havoc for no reason.
➜ On the 22nd, powers will go taken away and the city will correct itself. Non-player run buildings such as the movie theater, the fountain, the schools and etc can all be destroyed without permission.
➜ Because of the nature of this event make sure not to godmod. When powers are brought into play, especially big ones, things like this can get a little tricky. One power per person. Also, powers can't be completely earth shattering. You can't list your power as being able to destroy the world or something. Use common sense with powers that might be a little too powerful. And remember that you can't always win.
➜ Since we have a couple of sailor soldiers here, I'll address this so you don't have to ask. If you'd like to just get back your Sailor Senshi power as a blanket claim, that's possible. Since these allow multiple powers and abilities in some cases, those would all be retained but on a small scale. So, in the case of them, they'd be able to get back her compact which allows for transformation and all the powers that they held within the compact, but at a lower level of power. This is just to make sure that it's fair to give something that is one power but that splits into multiple powers the same level as having one unique power. This also goes for anyone else whom this situation may apply to, such as other magical girls, Puella Magi, etc. If you'd like to discuss this, please drop a line in the questions thread. This can get complicated, so ask away about anything!
➜ It is possible to just get back powers your character used to have, but not necessary. If you'd like to mix it up, then be my guest!
➜ Forming super hero cliques and legions as well as opting into being the more sidekick type is cool and encouraged.
➜ With St. Patty's Day coming and booze trucks driving around, please super hero responsibly and don't drink and fly.
Questions can be addressed in this thread and sign ups are, again, here or powers as well as building destruction permissions. See you around Easter!
