I hate to be a negative Nancy, but I'd really like it if the Captain's Log wasn't kept for themselves. That seems kind of like a way to make parts of the event more exclusive to some players than others. It should be found by someone who will share it.
I guess I'd nominate Miu for that, because she'd share it with everyone as she tried to figure stuff out about it.

I agree with this. And I suppose it seems like some of these missions may take some time so while it seems like it cuts some mystery short it may just be best for someone's who is going to share to find it. The squabble could be saved for the missions themselves.
Unless the player who wants their character to do this is ready for their character to pretty much be turned on and plotted against for the journal, the journal needs to be available to everyone. Especially if the character communicates missions within the log wrong and causes the boat's inhabitants to fail, because then the character hoarding the journal may receive the majority of the blame.

I'm honestly down for whatever, so if it goes in this direction, I'm cool with it.
Iiii don't wanna be presumptuous, but since the log's up! It looks like Murasa wins majority vote? If that's fine, I'll toss up a post-voting comment to get people organized. I don't wanna get ahead of myself wehhehh. I'm also fine with waiting for more players to show up and toss in their vote here.
I tallied up the votes in the thread, and Murasa definitely seems to have won the majority. (It was Murasa: 7, Macau: 2, Steve: 1 if I counted right!) I don't see anything wrong with having a post-voting comment going up. It's been about twenty hours since we started planning, so I think Murasa is safe.

That's a good point. If someone did take it and keep it for themselves, the player would need to find a way to involve everyone in that. I'm not opposed to either option.
