sylvan). My monitor's dying and my computer has been overheating/shutting off for the past few days. A new laptop's on the way, but it's not supposed to be in until Wednesday -- potentially later.

Open up the computer and set a desk fan next to it to blow inside. You might have a dead fan. That'll cool it old school style.

As for monitor, poor thing. Ask for a new one for xmas?

I have a fourteen year old computer, that's what the problem is! :') I'm going to give it a Viking Funereal when it goes, at least...

I'll see if it can be serviced or something. It isn't too old so I'm a little surprised it went out... but I did buy it cheaply at Wal-Mart...

Perhaps it can go to Valhalla then and play with the Valkyries.

Go to newegg.com. I just bought a good one, 23" widescreen with matte finish, for $125. Free shipping. Much better than what Walmart offers.
