 Hi Holly Heights!!

I'm Ryn (semi fresh meat), some of you may remember me from the last time I was here a few months back, before I had to drop due to RL reasons. I'm back, finally!!  I'm bringing a post game Selphie Tilmitt from FF8 with me, and she'll be in 1454 with Murasa and Wakasagihime. She falls into that bubbly and extroverted FF side character trope who promotes dangerous shortcuts that actually utilizing will make you lose points on your SeeD test, but she's got a strange, awkward sense of humor. SHE MEANS WELL, HONESTLY. She'll be sticking her nose into just about anything she can now that she's here in Holly Heights to be honest. 


I'm terrible at funny intros so I'll keep this short.

I like that you went and explained all of this to me, dug deep into the character. YOU JOINED THE RIGHT CAST you really did we do this all the time from headcanon to just discussing the what ifs we're so embarrassing

Seifer on the other hand can't help but think about it, especially more now that Selphie's in town and eventually they'll bump into each other in person and not just over the network. They didn't have much interaction outside of Garden or even in Garden aside from ... classes I guess, but yeah :( you can expect him to probably bring it up IC at one point, the whole I'm sure you really want nothin' more than to punch me for what happened.

Haha I'm glad you feel that way! There's a lot of room for figuring out just went on in the character's minds in my opinion -- ESPECIALLY Seifer since we see so little of it from his side, he's really enigmatic at points to me, and honestly a character I have a hard time fully understanding despite wanting to. I always have a lot of respect for people who play him since I know it takes a lot of mental puzzle solving to figure out where he comes from. In some ways I think he's a bit more complicated to understand than say, Squall, who is also a complete pain in the ass to understand -- but you at least get more information about him since the story is told from his perspective.

But especially with the way FF8 ended there's a lot of things that weren't really resolved at all -- and I think some things during the story could have used a little bit better of a resolution, I would have liked to learn more about how Selphie processed her grief outside of that visit to Trabia after the missiles hit. She doesn't really emote a lot about it outwardly other than her desperation to do something about it, and the snippets we see just don't fully cover the way a person handles grief.

It's my opinion that a lot of the cheerfulness is a front at times, considering all they go through, so it's kind of like a protective layer that keeps the squishy feelings that are still processing what happened safe and contained. She's ALSO a trained SeeD tho, so being familiar with death is something she's supposed to be familiar with -- I think there might be conflict there so overall I don't think she's dealt with everything fully or perhaps in the proper way.

WOW TANGENT.... In short PROPS FOR SEIFER AND DOING IT WELL FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN and also yes I like talking about these characters a lot. THANK YOU FOR THE WELCOME.

I look forward to seeing how this goes. They really had the most minimal of interactions and I'm practically vibrating at the possibilities here.
