For those of you that didn't lie when you said "yes" to reading the rules on the app form, those who maybe just forgot, or those with amnesia, jobs are a thing in Holly Heights that so far your character had to create and maintain themselves, which in turn could have made jobs for others and so on, so forth, etc etc etc. Also, people only got $500 upon arriving, in the form of a preloaded credit card. While houses regenerate food, other luxuries have to be afforded by the residents, because it's boring to live in a pretty bare room with no food except bread, cheese, and milk. Getting jobs can be problematic for some characters. Either they're extremely lazy, not socially oriented, not charismatic or imaginative enough to make a job, or what have you, thus making money a little tight and it's unrealistic to assume that they've been getting by without dipping into their funds a tiny bit. Now, there's a way that characters like these have easier access to a job market. Job posts will be very simple and I can think of a few other places with similar scenarios. A list of jobs available will be posted, and you simply sign your character up for it. It won't be IC, though. This helps to force your character's lazy rumps off their couches and into the working world! As soon as you reply, assume a letter has been sent to your character's mailbox with their new job listing. Basically, they get something from the landlord saying "This is your job, and then you'll get $XXX.XX". There will be two types of jobs offered: ➜ Landlord supplied jobs: These can include teaching school or painting houses or shoveling snow. This is the basic mechanics of how jobs will work. About 20-30 positions will be offered every month, with difficulty, obscurity, and price varying greatly. You could sign your character up to wash windows for $50 or maybe they can be a fake Santa Clause for $300 (wink wink for Christmas, ya'll). The first post will be put up on the 12th and jobs will run through to December 10th. Sign up procedure will be explained at the same time, though don't worry. It's no more than just commenting to a thread (or creating ones if you're a business owner). Hint: Jobs will be put up on the 2nd Monday of the month. Any questions can be directed below! |
