Yozora wants everyone to practice their ability to compliment and encourage others since she believes this will help them in the future, so... The Neighbors Club is holding yet another event for Valentine's!

Wait, what's the Neighbors Club again?
A club for people with no friends and/or cannot make friends. But as you can see, some of these people already have friends... They hold activities that claim to prepare their members for a rose-colored life with friends in the future, but most of the time they just sit around and do nothing but play all day. At least they provide CR opportunities, right!? Feel free to apply; I'll update the member roster soon.

So what will the Neighbors Club be doing this month?
They will be holding a Secret Valentine event! It will work like the Secret Santa event from last December. Like the last Neighbors Club event, it's free-for-all. Anyone can sign up, no limited slots! But I will allow only 2 characters per player. Characters who sign up for the event will be assigned another random character. It may be someone they know or a stranger. They must give the Neighbors Club chocolates and a love letter for that character, which the club will then send on March 14, White Day. Flowers are optional.

What should the love letter contain?
We're only calling it a love letter in the spirit of Valentine's Day, but the letter doesn't have to be romantic in nature. The point of the letter is to make a person feel loved. Thank them for all the wonderful things they've done! Shower them with compliments! Let them know you care! If your character is not the open type, maybe they can fake it? Then again, if they hated writing letters so much, why would they sign up for this!? The letters should be anonymous unless your character wants to reveal their identity.

Will we be sending the chocolates and letters ourselves?
No. All chocolates and letters must be posted as a screened comment to a Neighbors Club post. I will put this up as soon as sign ups close. Characters may send their letters in on or before March 13. ICly, characters will be giving their chocolates and letters to the Neighbors Club. On March 14, they will deliver these to everyone's houses. Don't worry about the chocolates. They have a fridge.

That sounds like a lot of work for one person...
Is your character part of the Neighbors Club? You're helping. If your character is willing to go from house to house—even just a couple of houses—to deliver the chocolates and letters, please sign them up! I will PM all of you and get into the details when I get enough helpers, but all you have to do is post the letters in a few IC inboxes. If more people sign up, the more we can divide the work among ourselves!

WAIT! My character doesn't know the person they're paired up with!
Ah, that's when you have to do the work. Characters are given roughly a month to get to know the person they're assigned to, so they'll have enough time to get to know them by then. CR opportunities! Yozora will explain this ICly. I'll handwave this.

I'm confused. Where do we sign up for everything? Can we get a list of dates?

17 January 2014 @ 08:50 am
Hey Holly Heights, the Neighbors Club is hosting a speed dating event soon! Only it's for making friends.

What?
Speed dating.

Is it a club-only event? Can my character join?
No, it is free-for-all! Anyone can join. Feel free to assume your character was dragged in by Kobato Hanato, Daisuke Niwa, Medaka Kurokami, Hayate Ayasaki, Rydia, Mei or any of the Neighbors Club members.

How will this work?
First, sign up by commenting in the thread below. There is no character cap, but I will be closing sign-ups on January 23, Thursday, 6am GMT +8.

Then, a log will go up Friday evening or Saturday morning GMT +8 at the latest. It will look something like this, but without the sloppy image guides. Instead, I will be using a spreadsheet, so you will be referring to that!

A thread per round must be 20 comments long. This means there will be 10 comments from your character and 10 comments from your partner before your time is up. Use it wisely!

Are players allowed to sign up more than one character?
No. One character per player, please!

May I sign other people up?
ICly, yes! OOCly, no. Please have the players themselves sign their character up. This is to make counting easier for me!

My character is shy! It will be difficult for them to initiate conversation.
We can't hold their hand, but there will be cue cards provided. I will make a list of prompts and questions Yozora and co. would pen and you will be free to pick or RNG from them.

How is this ICly happening?
On January 24, Yozora will ask the Neighbors Club to advertise it in the span of a couple of hours. She'll kind of... be in shock depending on the turnout! It will be held in the high school gym.

How many rounds will there be?
If our sign-up count is below 20, there will be that many rounds. If the sign-up count is above 20, there will be 20 rounds maximum. So if 14 people sign up, there will be 14 rounds, but if 32 people sign up, there will be 20 rounds. This is so we don't end up needing to thread out 40 conversations at once!! Also I don't want to make that many threads.

Wait... what's the Neighbors Club?
A club for making friends, but only friendless losers are allowed.

I'm in a rush since I have to go, but feel free to ask questions and give comments and suggestions!

25 August 2013 @ 02:27 am
For the month of August, the Neighbors Club (a.k.a. the Friendless Losers Club) will be playing a game that's a little something like Twenty Questions! There's a storm, so it's not like they have anything else better to do, right?

Wait, what is the Neighbors Club?
The Neighbors Club is a club Yozora founded in her canon. It's a club that aims to help those without friends become "normals" or riajuu and make friends. Their activities often involve playing games, acting exercises, playing games, going places, playing games... Actually, they do nothing but play games. But that should be fine, right!? More info here. If your character wants to join, they can sign up there and talk about/handwave them joining, too.

So what's this game we're playing this month?
This site has short videos that will help you visualize the setup. No, no one is getting in a ridiculous chair and wearing an electronic sign on their head. The point of the game is to guess the word. Simple, right? Person A (the person with the sign on their head) has to ask Person B about it. However! Person B can only answer with a "Yes" or "No".

The Neighbors Club version has a twist: instead of nouns in general, people have to guess the name of a person.

What are the mechanics? What will the log look like?
I have an example up here. Threading with myself? Still the saddest thing ever. Hopefully, that will give you guys an idea of what the log will look like! Here are the instructions:
The name of a person is in the subject title, but will be ICly displayed behind the person who has to do the guessing (Person A). Another person (Person B) has to help Person A guess the name of the person correctly by answering their Yes or No questions. ICly, there's a time limit for each round, but OOCly we'll place this at 10 comments per character, making each round 20 comments total.
I will be getting 17 players for this activity. These players plus Yozora will be randomly sorted into teams of two. Work together to win something big!

What does my character win?
We all just won $2000 from the landlord. What the hell, you guys. Shame on you. Seriously though, the pair with the most points gets enough lunch money from Yozora. But no one knows that ICly... just that Yozora has a big prize in store.

Sounds like fun! How will this work?
1. Comment here to sign up. Sign-ups will close when we reach 15 people (excluding Yozora) OR by Sunday evening GMT +8 - whichever comes first. One character per mun, please! SIGN-UPS ARE CLOSED.
2. List down names your character would know AND your OOC team up preferences here. Comments are screened.
3. Wait for the log and the final list of players and teams to go up. This will happen within the 24 hours after slots are filled.
How many teams and rounds will there be?
There will be 9 teams. Each team will get 3 rounds each. That's a total of 27 rounds.

So we'll only get to tag our teammate for this activity?
Threadjacking is fine! Make sure to ask the other person if it's okay. If it's a reaction to something someone said and won't affect the players of the round, just go for it.

Why aren't there more slots!?
Because Yozora gets nauseous around crowds and setting these things up is hard.

My character is not a part of the Neighbor's Club, but I want to join!
No problem! Yozora or another member of the club could have roped them in somehow shortly before the game begins. This will be handwaved.

Any comments, suggestions, concerns and plotting threads are welcome in this post!

12 July 2013 @ 02:52 pm
Hello, residents of Holly Heights, new and old! I'm just posting here to pimp out the Neighbors Club, a club that aims to help people make friends. There's one catch, though: you must have no friends to join. But don't let that stop you! We hold monthly CR-building activities such as last month's King's Game so if your character is the shy or anti-social type, we highly encourage them to join. Don't worry if your character has no CR with any of its members or probably wouldn't join on their own accord - you can have someone else sign them up, or we can fix that easily. Yozora and Sena (who got accepted this month!) have their methods...

For the month of June, the Neighbors Club (a.k.a. the Friendless Losers Club) will be playing the King's Game! Since it is a game commonly played with friends at parties (or so Yozora says) the Neighbors Club will be doing a practice run-through of the game. Again. She still needs to get revenge on some people...

What is the King's Game?
This video explains it more clearly than I ever will. HOWEVER! Yozora's version has a twist. The King has to pick an order at random from a box full of orders written by everyone else.

Sounds like fun! How will this work?
1. Comment here to sign up. Sign-ups will close when we reach 24 people (excluding Yozora) OR by Friday evening GMT +8 - whichever comes first. One character per mun, please! SIGN-UPS ARE NOW CLOSED.
2. Once you've done that, fill out the form here and write 3 - 5 orders ICly. Example. Comments will be screened.
3. Wait for the final list of players to be announced when the slots are full OR on Saturday morning GMT +8! A log will be set up soon after.

What will the log look like?
Here's a sample log! Players will not get to choose the number or order they pick - both will be decided by RNG. Unless...

My character is a cheater and will most likely cheat at this game. How do I do this?
Don't worry, Yozora's a cheater, too. They can't mess with what number they'll get, but they can mess with the orders. See this example comment!

How many rounds will there be?
25! Not everyone will get to be king, but this will ensure that everyone will at least get to play something out.

My character is not a part of the Neighbor's Club, but I want to join!
No problem! Yozora or another member of the club could have roped them in somehow shortly before the game begins. This will be handwaved.

Aww, I didn't get to sign up!
Who knows? There may even be a third round in the future.

Any comments, suggestions, concerns and plotting threads are welcome in this post!
