As you may have noticed in honour of the summer, unlike Zodion, Holly Heights is now an island. ➜ Where the bars and jungle that seemed to go on endlessly used to be is now a sealine, spanning as far as the eye can see. The forestry and areas just outside this go gradually from rocky soil to sand to water. Because of this, the gates that separate the four districts are now removed. In their place, there's just an expanse of sand that you can walk up and down between the districts.
➜ What can be found in this ocean? Well, for the most part, exactly what would be in the regular ocean. Tropical fish, sea turtles, a giant reef off the coast of the pleasure district, but also the more sinister sea inhabitants. Sharks, rays, jellyfish. As per usual, being eaten or killed will end with you in the hospital, regenerated. Non-fatal injuries are your own responsibilities. Exploring requires the same equipment.
➜ As for the greenery and the nature around you, it will remain the same until you hit the edges of the districts where there is a change from the usual oak, pine, and etc. to palm trees, coastal brush, and the regular sea fare. Tropical birds will be found everywhere, and the occasional crab may wander onto your lawn, but mostly the sea life that lies above land will be staying in the beach-ier parts of land.
➜ Unlike flying, you can go as far as you want in the ocean, and as deep as you want. What lies on the bottom? It's unknown. People who go too far will eventually get stuck and die if they don't stop going down. There's a bottom, just like our ocean has a bottom, but it'll never be known the full extent of the bottom of it's murky depths. Going far, though, will be just like the gate, except a bit more time consuming. After about ten days, you'll have sailed from one shore straight to the other shore of Holly Heights.
➜ How long will HH be like this...who knows? How did it become like this? Wait and ask the landlord and/or co. on a post coming up in a few days. On this post, a bit of the mechanics of how the world works will be revealed if the right questions are asked. Any other questions, please ask here! (This is a pretty parse description for those more detail oriented people). SECRET MISSION➜ So what all does this secret mission entail? Well, not much. Just scoping out your new territory, surviving, and teamwork. In an ideal world, things would run smoothly. Between the idiots, the pig heads, and the egoists that run rampant in Holly Heights, they probably won't.
➜ The 42 people who have signed up will be placed on a boat in the middle of the ocean that now surrounds their home island. Their communication devices, powers, and regains will be stripped from them, leaving them in the most human state possible. Pretend they were just dropped off at Holly Heights. That's how human they are now. Note that non-physical regains aren't stripped, just ones that alter their physical state and/or give them powers that an ordinary human does not possess. All that can be seen from this boat is miles and miles of ocean as far as the eye can see. While a network posting and simple exploration will tell mainlanders that their home is now an island, the ones of the boat will be clueless to this. To them, they could be somewhere else entirely.
➜ On the boat, there are 42 cots in one large room in the belly of the boat. Above that is another floor with a small dining room, kitchen, bathrooms, and shower areas. The furnishings are modern, as is the technology. The food supply, however, is shortened. In all, there's about enough for each person to eat one meal every day. How many days will you be on the water? 7.
➜ The second characters spawn on the boat, it's as if they've left from Holly Heights. For those of you who were here for and/or remember the flooding event, those whose house were affected were erased from the network contact list. As far as the people back on the island are concerned,
➜ The boat will steer itself, regardless of the competence of the crew aboard. Upon trying to steer or sail it anywhere other than its predestined course, it will refuse to do as your hand tries to dictate. Other than the steer equipment, a few barrels of fresh water, the cabin of the ship, and a few life preservers, the deck is virtually empty.
➜ The only thing they have communication wise is a notebook in the captain's quarters of the boat, entitled the Captain's Log (in the form of a lessorlog post). Each day you'll be given a mini mission, listed on the post. Don't worry, you'll be notified of them as they pop up. Some things can be decided via OOC interactions but all must be talked about and played out. For example, your first mission is to elect a ship captain who will then elect his/her crew. You may discuss who the team captain will be OOCly, but a decision must be reached, or be assumed tobe reach ICly (meaning you don't have to rush for 24 hours to get your threads done and this decided, but it is a good idea to OOCly decide as fast as possible.
➜ Since 42 is a large number, feel free to simply discuss what your character will be doing, the decisions they'll make if you don't want to participate every day with every mission and everyone. There will be a separate poolside post put up after this one for the mission discussion. Here it is!
➜ There will be one large log with comments for different events and days. For example, for day one, there will be a comment for waking up and exploration, for deciding the captain, and then for other things you'd like to do. This may change for other days, however.
➜ In order to give time for people to decide whether to actual participate, hash out possible captain candidates, and for you to plan and adjust to the changes, the log will go up at 6 PM CST today. Comments for days and events will go up at ~12 AM everyday.
➜ For easy reference here's a list of those on the boat. If someone drops out, you may fill their slot until I freeze the thread at 6 PM CST. REPERCUSSIONS OF THE SECRET MISSIONBecause of the inability to communicate with others, you will not be able to use the network post for this event. Do not worry about AC and how this will affect you. AC will be treated differently this month to a new and improved AC schedule, so you won't be hurt by this. It's not like log tags aren't hard to come by and you need less of them anyway SO either way you're good AC wise.
If after learning about the event, you wish not to participate, please leave a comment to the questions thread just saying "I'm out" or something to that effect. But be blunt about it and not wishy washy if you truly choose to drop from the secret mission so I know that you're truly dropping and not just expressing a concern or etc.
Also I'm getting sickish again so excuse my feverish brain. |
