oh baby youuuuu, you got what i neeee-eeeeed.
Hey, dudes & dudettes! I'm Lucy and I bring with me Quistis Trepe from some obscure game you've probably never heard of called Final Fantasy VIII! She's set up as a spouse in house #1468! Her canon point is Disc Two, before going to Trabia Garden.
I don't like to do intro posts, so I will probably bum around until that newbie log. My motto is "if it's dumb, I want to RP it," so please come to me if you have really stupid ideas and need someone to jam with!!
I can be found on AIM at instructor fourteen (or my old one, candyfloss branch if I'm playing sneaky-sneak) and plurk at
esuna (this is where I talk about RP and dogs)!

It's harem? Haha, then it's definitely going to be interesting. A lot of the characters (especially the love interests) of harem animu, I think, have such amazing potential to grow as characters outside of their canon. I really enjoy seeing them in games.
I feel special already!no subject
And yeah, Kämpfer's weird! It starts off with the main character waking up as a girl (because the Kämpfer powers require it), then goes into a kind of superpowered action battle thing between his girl form and a bunch of other Kämpfer, then as time goes on the two factions make nice and become Natsuru's possible love interests while they all fight against a third faction together every once in a while.
And Natsuru gets forced into embarrassing situations as a girl the whole time. (She showed up in Holly Heights wearing this outfit. Story of her life.)

I feel like I should go "lol animu" here, but lbr! Comics and live action and cartoons are no better. Unless they're Regular Show then everything is perfect fight me on it!!
Oh, that's. Haha, slightly awkward. If it is any consolation Quistis is showing up in her own clothing (OH SNAP SEE WHAT I DID THERE!!!).

Speaking of awkward, that monkey boy commenting under me (played by the lovely Michi! ♥) faceplanted into Natsuru's boobs in the welcoming party log last month. Not to mention the other two girls that did the same thing already. One on purpose. The perils of being a tall (and busty) girl around short people... /insert muttering about lucky Quistis with her modest outfits and normal height and small boobs and JRPG genre
AND I NOTICE YOU MENTIONED DIRGE OF CERBERUS SOMEWHERE... have I found the elusive other person in the world who didn't hate that game with a vengeance? Or does the fruitless search continue? D:
(Totally using this comment to reply to other things I see on this page, yep. )

I actually kind of know her!! We met shortly before I applied and strangely enough, she was here! Serendipity, I suppose! Hey, man, she's pretty busty. Just not anime busty. Also wearing pants under long skirts is just dumb, squirrelfriend!!!
I'm afraid I'm not a fan! Though I can look at it objectively. My dislike mostly was that [a] I don't like Lucrecia or care about her [b] don't curr about newbies [c] Vincent really doesn't translate well to realistic and I'm petty and shallow and [d] I just didn't really care for what AC did in general in terms of the original game's world build. I guess my feelings on it can almost exclusively be summed up by my dislike of where the world build/style/etc. went from the original? I'd have to replay the original and watch it all to pinpoint my exact issues with all of it for me to really get into it.
BUT YEAH I'm not a big fan of VII overall. I'm all about the older ones and like, early SMT games. I kind of stopped playing them at Persona 3 since I really disliked it and struggled to even finish it. :x
(Lmao, it's fine with me. I'm not currently in any other games and I'm a little bored and now hopped up on coffee and homemade donuts, so it's allllll good!)

And in all fairness, I can totally see why the DoC hate happens, even though I like it okay. For me, it doesn't feel like the world build changed a whole lot, it just got updated to the post-FF8 (and FF10) style. Crisis Core shows it a lot better, because it's set pre-Meteor, so you don't get any of the major alterations from AC and DoC...
I also had a pretty long conversation with a friend a while back over how I actually like Lucrecia because they made her such a flawed character who made terrible life choices, lmao. Like, if you just look at FF7 itself she's almost too perfect and sympathetic. DoC really deconstructs that, but doesn't make her a bad person, just someone with really horrible judgment... who made a lot of mistakes. And didn't realize it until it was way too late. I still feel bad for her, but she's not wholly innocent, either.
But now I'm rambling, oops. /also played Lucrecia once upon a time...

to me, it felt like a lot of it changed alongside the update? idk. i always appreciated the mash-up of old school fantasy world with tech and i think the original handled it really well and interestingly, but it didn't have the same charm in latter installments for me. i confess to not having played crisis core, but around the time it came out i had a really demanding job and up until recently i honestly haven't had much free time at all.
see, i kind of just liked... not knowing much about her? i like when some things are left behind and not touched on. then again, i also like the idea that the whole world blew up at the end of ff7 and nothing worked out. OH BOY WE GOT AN ANGSTY MC ANGSTER HERE!!!!
a lot of it was i liked that vincent had moved on to some degree and then they were like YEAH NO LET'S CUT THEM WOUNDS OPEN!!! but again, most of my issues are with worldbuild and petty stylistic choices
my opinion is always invalid, remember this!!

Like, the whole mashup of old school fantasy with tech thing is exactly what I was talking about with the original game having its own charm! FF7 proper really showcased it in the visual style, even though technology was pretty hugely part of the world. I don't think FF8 really threw the balance a whole lot further towards tech, but it certainly updated the visual style so it seemed more modern and less connected to the old-school fantasy style. That's how I feel about the Compilation titles... it makes it feel more modern, like the other FF titles of the early-to-mid 2000's. Even though, when you get down to it, it's still the same world. If that makes sense?
One of the things I really appreciated was that they used DoC to really develop characters that didn't get much focus in the original game. Reeve, Vincent, Yuffie, Lucrecia... I think it did repeat some things, but they were kind of making up for those characters being so "minor" in the original title. And admittedly, I hated not knowing much about her because it made her a bitch to RP, lol. (Technically, she still is, because she's kind of a bitch... o.o)
But again, that's just my feelings on it! Yours are perfectly valid, too! I just apparently feel like sharing tonight. xD

but yeah, you make sense. i think my thing is that i never never really found myself attached to any character (or characters) as i did with the other games -- or even was able to go I LIKE THEM ALL, I CAN'T PICK!! i like all the characters well enough, but it's one of the games i've played the whole way through and know pretty well and don't rp from. although i also don't play from vi and i chinhands that, too... hrm.
hey, man, it's all good. it's always nice to have someone to jam with. most of my friends rl and rp are horror/old television shows/sci-fi/etc. so i don't often get to rocktalk about the vidya that i enjoy.
that icon...... ♥
But hey, VI is actually my favorite of the 2D era! Along with VIII from the Playstation era and X (counting X-2, I suppose) from the PS2 era.
I have very unpopular tastes in Final Fantasy games. xD
