Hello everyone~ Some new blood here! My name is Kieran and I'm bringing to the game this 14 year old demigod Nico di Angelo from the Percy Jackson series. He's coming in right after a pretty big life event, nothing like sending a fellow demigod to the underworld to make for an anxious demigod. He's not going to be very happy to be here and this shot at a normal life is probably going to weird him out for awhile, but he needs friends and if you're willing to put up with him I'm all for it~

Ugh I am so sorry for dropping off the face of the earth, I was traveling every single week in July and thought I would be fine once I got to August, but now thanks to an apartment management change I have to move unexpectedly and am now trying to buy a house and that's a whole other thing... so as I have clearly demonstrated I can't keep up two characters right now, and Karkat's going home. If he's free in a few months hopefully I can app him again then once things finally settle down. Still here with Toudou!

minus two losers, plus one explanation

So you may have noticed i dropped the rest of my rp squad. Tamaki was because of many issues but the last two were due to some drastic changes I'm going to be seeing in my life that will require me to majorly cut back on my commitments. I will still be modding but this recent life stuff has pushed a nail into my RP game coffin, probably permanently. Kanata's cat can go wherever someone wants her.

As for the event I feel like a major jackass (and i'm so sorry that this is so hastily typed because i literally can't stay sitting down at my computer long), but when I say drastic changes and life stuff, I mean of the very shit tier caliber. I'm not going to tl;dr, overshare and make people uncomfortable with personal details if they aren't on my plurk or social media, but I will say that i wouldn't bullshit with the idea that it is literal shit and literally major. Police involved, major decisions, many tears, etc. I fully planned on getting RP stuff done today but it is literally something that I am unable to do yet again. My computer activity has been very limited and I've been living off my phone for most of the time minus getting reserves settled down.

Tonight after things settle down on my end, I'm going to do a write up of the days that I missed + the ghost plot stuff to be sent out as soon as I get up in the morning, if I even sleep. I know and understand this is really shitty, but it will get done and this isn't just the usual "work in the way" stuff; this is really important life stuff I HAVE to deal with for my own well being and the well being of others. After this month, and I make no promises, things SHOULD die down, but I will be giving Kitty and Sonia a full and complete write up of instructions on the calendar, the event, and everything else within the first few days of the month so nothing is late in case this happens again. This was all really sudden and if I had known life would so majorly get in the way I would have extra prepared beforehand.

tl;dr your rp lives should go back to normal tomorrow and it's been absent at the expense of my life being very very very disgustingly present

ACTIVITY CHECK ➜ JULY

Activity Check will run through the last week of July. Activity can be from June 25th through July 31st. Please use activity posted before this week unless you are stretched and must use a proof from reserve week.

SOME NOTES ON AC
Here are a couple of not so crystal clear rules about what is and is not activity. It's never been strictly laid out like this before since it seems a little obvious, but just in case, here's what does and doesn't qualify for AC / tag count starting this AC:

➜ If you used a thread or post in a previous AC you may not use that thread/post again. In short terms, if I've seen it before, I do not want to see it again. Even if you tagged a post 100 more times, I want to see new proofs of activity. Not an old one with new stuff added on.

➜ With open logs, you may use more than one thread from the same log but they must have different characters in them. For example, from our recent island log, you may use an Island 08 thread and an Island 12 thread to make or combine for AC, but if in both threads you're threading with the same character, you can only choose one.

➜ Do not alter the form you are given to post AC with. This makes it so much easier for me to go through and for others/yourself if you need to reference them.

➜ Forms now have a place for a comment count. Please do not leave these off. Please use these to do the math for yourself. If you have a comment count of 3 and a comment count of 4 for post threads, these do not add up to 10 thus they do not count.

➜ Finally, and this is newly decided, comment spams will only count for one comment. This is an example of what I mean. Kanata would only have one comment AC wise here even though he made five different comments.

Please provide one (1) proof of activity in one the following forms:

➜ A post either on the network or the log community. A post counts if you have put it up and replied to comments on it as of when you post it. Please do not use a post with no replies from you as proof.

➜ Network post comments equaling to 10. It can be a thread with 10 comments from you, three threads with 3+3+4 comments from you. Enough to equal 10.

➜ Log post comments equaling to 5. It can be a thread with 5 comments from you, two threads with 3+2 comments from you, etc. Enough to equal 5.

➜ Mailbox post comments equaling to 15. It can be a thread with 15 comments from you, two threads with 9+6 comments from you, etc. Enough to equal 15.

You are exempt from the activity check if you:

➜ Posted any hiatus during June 25th through July 31st that lasted a week or more. There isn't a need to comment here if so, but if you'd like to pop in and say something OR if you have enough to post to AC anyway, feel free. Also, if you discuss a hiatus with me personally, it always helps to post it somewhere anyways just so I don't overlook it.

➜ Post with a strike. Simply reply with the form but instead of dates and links, put STRIKE. This is for those that wish to continue playing but don't have enough activity to make it this month. If you ask for a strike the next month, you will be removed from the game. If you make AC the next month, then your strike will be negated. If you take a strike and then hiatus the next month, your strike will roll over with you whenever you are next active.

Please do not post AC for others without their express permission. If someone would like to idle out by not responding to the AC, then that is their own business, and not the place of others to show activity for them.

Do not post activity until it is complete. You have a week to complete activity, so don't dilly dally! Please fill out the following form for each character you have. Feel free to put multiple characters in one comment. You have until the beginning of the new month to post, then you will be removed from the game. There will be no exceptions.

NEW Because the game is not as big as it used to be and has slowed down in speed and character turnover, we'll be doing an AC for a while that only requires one proof. Based on the ability to complete this and if the game's temperature changes, this may be edited but for now it will remain one proof of AC for everyone. This goes for everyone.

Hiatus!

Despite event plotting and trying to get things done, I'm putting Miu here on a hiatus. I'm having eye issues (I'm not going blind or anything!!!) and I need to cut back on my RPing, and she's easy for me to fall in and out of so it's going to be her.

I'm not going to hiatus officially because I have AC but just don't expect me around much for a month or so! If you absolutely need me for a thread, I'll definitely crash in, though. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

OOC sign ups for a holly heights sports centre event!!!

OH HEY YOU GUYS!! so the mysterious fund-raising event that gou and her lameass entourage just posted about is a TALENT SHOW + AUCTION. participants will showcase their super sporty fit talents -- for example, lifting a whole first year over your head, or being able to burp the alphabet -- before bidding (open to the general public, not just HHSC members) for a sporty nakama date will commence. the event will be also include an ICE CREAM BUFFET, hosted by resident business Scoopsie Daisy, because everyone was a wiseass on Rin's poll.

what we need from you to generate this event:
1. your character's name and age
2. a link to a picture of your character being fit or athletic (or... not athletic, as the case may be). please link images (a href="") instead of posting them (img src=""), for convenience's sake.
3. a short description about what your character uses the centre for.
4. what talent your character will be showcasing.

example:
1. Rin Matsuoka, 18.
2. very handsome shark.
3. Rin is often at the centre screaming at first years, listening to dub step, and swimming his feelings away.
4. Competitive twerking.

it will probably go up whenever the boat event is over, so there won't be any ic conflicts! direct any questions here and either myself, Daisy, or Haku will tell you what's up.

hiatus

hello everyone! i'm leaving tomorrow for a backpacking trip and won't be back until August 11, so basically everything i was in the middle of is gonna be put on hold until then. i hope you're all cool with old backtags hhhaahahfa.

this just affects Rin, who'll be doing her usual Rin things and idk getting lost in the woods during the event or something.

if i'm needed for anything shoot a PM, i'll probably be able to check my email and respond whenever i have wifi. see y'all in a month!! o/

EVENT ➜ THE LOVE BOAT

LET'S GO SAILING (OR NOT, THAT'S COOL TOO)

Similar to a summer event two years ago, this little excursion will be outside the realm of Holly Heights and on a boat that seems to be floating on an endless sea. Instead of having a survival aspect, however, there's instead a much more vacation-y feel, and here's how that will all go down.

Sign ups for this event will involve either 1) placing yourself in a cabin via this post or 2) replying to this comment to be put into a random room. Just like any other event, if you don't want to be placed with a specific someone that you haven't voiced concerns about before, speak up so you aren't made uncomfy by random room placements! Rooms are co-ed and house four people.

On the morning of the 13th, characters will find themselves awake on the boat in the room with their other three companions for the journey. Their possessions aren't present sans anything they had on them before they fell asleep in whatever clothes they sleep in.

What else will happen on this boat journey? Will there be food? Will people have to kill each other in order to keep starvation at bay, left to decide whose leg gets to be eaten on what day? No, nothing like that, but that's all a mystery to you and your muses at the moment! While this event is a day-by-day reveal event, rest assured that it will be more fun, friendship, HH stuff and no murders, crabs, or icebergs will be present.

What about the people who don't go? Life will continue as normal with maybe a mini event thrown in. As far as they'll know for a few hours, HH will just have experienced a mass exodus. Why? While the boat crew will keep their phones and have access to the network, all posts are filtered to only other boat participants (think about this when posting and label posts appropriately). Texts and posts directly sent to non-boat residents will bounce back. This goes for those on land too: posts will be filtered and all outgoing direct messages will not be received.

However, this will only matter for a few hours. This is where the new Holly Heights job listing comes in.

Instead of the old format, the job posting will focus less on handing out assigned tasks and follow a style that's more like paid online survey taking. While the exact cash stipulations will be put in the post, your character will basically be paid to be active and interact with community members in a text based format (possibly video and voice if i can work that in there magically). Jobs will be assigned, but characters will be asked to answer questions and respond to others about these questions. This WON'T be filtered, so both island and land lovers will be able to interact and share information. Sadly, this post will only ICly be open for 24 hours, so no info sharing past that!

Also, for the first post, the answers of land participants will effect certain activities and aspects of boat life, such as picking certain scenarios and foods that boat participants will have to put up with.

This will be a log based event but posting to the network and etc is a-okay! Any questions about the event can be asked here!

Hi, friends!

As teased a couple of months ago, this is Shay (Satsuki Kiryūin's player) with something completely different: somebody friendly! Something less completely different: An OOC intro.

This is Ryouta Kawara from smash dating simulator hit Hatoful Boyfriend. Ryouta is a teenage rock dove who lives in a future earth where birds and humans waged a 100-year war against each other, leading to bird superiority and a steep decline in the human race. He attends an all-pigeon high school, but his childhood best friend (a human girl) has started attending alongside him in order to repair human-bird relations. By falling in love with birds. Ryouta is very funny and kind, but spends most of his time working several jobs to take care of his sick mother or in the infirmary dealing with his own weak stomach.

Despite his birdy true self, Ryouta will of course be human for his time in Holly Heights! I can't wait for the fleshy mammal shenanigans that are sure to occur. He's in house 1440 with Kisumi, Kanata, and Hisami. Say hello to your new brother!

Hey guys! Unfortunately I wasn't really feeling Umi (

seariously), and I joined another game which is a bit fast, so I've decided to let her go to cut down on my load. :(

Also I'm going on vacation next week (:D) and will be gone until the 19th. I know I've been a bit fail for the start of this month so I'm going to try to hit it hard again with Daisuke when I get back.

Hey all. I'm Ben, and I'm here to play Chloe after a lot of whining about too much sport anime from a friend of mine (don't tell her that Pitch Perfect basically takes a capella to the level of sport, she'll be extremely upset.) Holly Heights seems like it'll be a fun ride, and Chloe will be happy to come along for it.
